View Full Version : Can I somehow get cop prosecuted?

Got picture evidence of Police Interceptor parked on 'fire curb'.
Cop wasn't there and lights weren't on, he was probably getting Starbucks inside the store (seen that happen before).
From what I've heard cops must obey the law like anyone else if it's not emergency. Is that true?
Even if someone got caught stealing or something similar, shouldn't he still park like civilians do?
What do I do now? I stopped by county court house and they gave me PD Chief & District Attorney cards.
Left voice mails, hopefully I get call back.
So how do I go about getting him cited?

How about just getting some proof like a picture with plates. It's not like they're just going to believe anybody.

You should be worrying about your life instead of that cop.
Anyway, all he has to say is he was helping a citizen; case closed.

He may have not had his lights on but he may have been working on a case or following on a report. Cops will even respond to calls without running lights/siren but will speed excessively in order to get to the call in a speedy manner. Just because they aren't running code doesn't mean they aren't currently on a call.

Nothing is what you are going to do. If you want to feel productive, sit on your thumb and spin. Take a second and be upset by the fact that he can do what you cannot and then move on. They have to follow rules, yes; but those rules are not "THE" rules.
Let me give you an example, or rather a few.
1) I worked at a job where a coworker had went to school for criminal justice, and he wanted to be a statie. But he had found a job and was happy making more than he was before school and lost his drive. I was telling him a story about how a trooper flew by me easily going 100. After recounting my story, he gave me some sound advice. Just let it go, troopers have a different speed limit than the rest of us. While our speed limit is 65-70, theirs is traditionally at least 10mph faster. Plus, who the **** is going to pull them over??
2) I was living in Burlington, VT and had some problems with the local pd. After getting a few parking tickets, and having a few discussions with them i one day got pissed off seeing a cop parked in a no parking zone and a mail truck on a curb in a no parking here to corner situation. I called the parking authority and was adamant that they get a ticket. After all the cop was in the deli, and the mail guy was walking around stopping at every house (delivering mail). The parking authority supervisor got on the phone and delivered the following blow. She indicated that the local PD can do what they want in that regard. (As mentioned above) they can be doing things from investigating, talking to someone, or any numerious things. The postal worker is a federal employee (do i need to continue?). Basically their **** doesnt stink no matter what. They can make their own parking rules up it doesnt matter. Oh and dont hit one.
3) I'm a volunteer firefighter. (this one will be short). Every single ****ing call we get. When we arrive on scene, if the PD beat us, they are parked like morons in the fire lane and usually infront of a hydrant. We dont bust their windows out as we would everyone elses. We wait for them to move their **** boxes.
Basically the point of this essay is. Your $hit out of luck man. I dislike many cops just like you do, infact i have a bitch in at a local pd right now. But what you need to do is just accept it, he wins. You can call the supervisor and report the car # and the date of the incident. He will probably go and talk to the officer and say, "park a little better next time." Sorry dude, but it's worthless. You are going to earn a reputation as an ******* and get hassled.

BAsically it is a no win. Now yes we should follow the same as all citizens, unfortunately some don't. I typically do as I should because I'm smart enough to know that at all times, we are in the spotlight. A lot of guys think, "I'm a cop, I do what I want" but soo n will find theirselves in a mess. Anyone from the Philly area can confirm this but look how many Philly cops got arrested in the last few years with that attitude. Over 20. ANd yes I only say this cause little stuff like the parking and speeding is just the beginning of that reckless behavior. I can honestly say I'm glad we have a Chief that doesn't stand for that behavior.
call the towing company next time you see a pig parked like an assfuck.

Sucks to say, but a lot of them are basically above the law. Damn, saw one of the higher ranking officers today speeding through town with his lights on and siren blaring. I pulled over to let him pass, then casually followed him for 3 blocks before he turned off his lights and pulled into Sonic
I try my damnedest to respect the law, but one bad apple makes the bunch look like a bunch of c0ck stains

Why are you going out of your way to get him in trouble? Would you do the same thing if you saw a normal car parked there?

I take it back! After being d*cked by COPS lately. You have my full support and I wish you the best of luck in getting these as$holes.
Make these pigs realize they need to uphold the law, not be above it! :marky:
:headbang:-Good luck RomanTaylor with your efforts and may the force be with you!

Yea but do you know the nature of why he went to Sonic? If it was just to eat, then yes he was dead wrong but what if there was a fight, robbery, etc? Would he be wrong for speeding to Sonic then?

Yes, he went there to eat. No emergency or anything, guess fast food has replaced donuts?

In Illinois it's illegal to photograph a cop - and, I imagine, a cop car. So, if I did what you've done and propose they'd probably come get me and throw me in jail.
