Ok...,
I installed the CAI yesterday and found something that bothers me.
Is a splash guard supposed to touch the inner bumper and the circular metal thing?? or did I put it in wrong?? I hear it hits the bumper everytime I start the engine.
And it seems to take longer to start engine than before.

I installed mine also with the splash gaurd and it didn't hit the bumper. I would try repositioning the guard. Or if that's in the right spot maybe the whole intake can move a couple inches over. I would just play with the postioning. Hope that helps.
Also with the starting the car problem I think its normal. Mine happened too. It just seemed like there was alot more air getting sucked in causing it to maybe hesitate for a sec.

There should be plenty of room. make sure you have the plastic part cut out enough so it sits back.
Mine starts hard when it is cold out. I think it is because the butterfly is gone since I had the same problem when i did the butterfly mod.
Just a quick pointer, if you get a CEL and everthing seems to be fine (hoses tight and in right spots) pull the MAS and put a 1/8 bead of silicone on the CAI where the MAS meets. Let this dry for a couple of hours then put it back on.
It seems the O-ring on the MAS does not seal well on the CAI and lets air in. I got a CEL after about 70 miles made the MAS more air tight and no CEL for 500 miles.

thx guys.
I guess I positioned it wrong, but I can't understand how it should have plenty of room in there.
So, yours don't even hit the bumper when it vibrates??
arggg.. I don't want to do this again... T.T

No mine is angled more towards the wheel. It was pushed up more towards the bumper until I seen that the CAI was still hitting the plastic from the hole you need to cut out.
I have about 1-2" clear from the CAI to the edge of the hole by the wheel well. I have not had any rubbing yet, just a odd sound when i hit lift just for a second.
after some trimming it seemed to fit fine. I hate redoing things too. Just relax and whatever you do, don't take it out on the car. it always costs more.

The short ram has the heat shield and from the pix of it, it looks flat. The CAI has a splash guard that is like a half circle.
I may be thinking of AEM or a little of both.
All i did for my CAI was use black silicone to seal up the holes in the wheel well and saved $40.
