Can engine enamel be used to paint the calipers? I figure as long as its high temp paint, its OK, right? If so, I found this site that has a lot of different colors (www.por15.com) and I was thinking of getting the "cadillac dark blue" hoping its close to carbon blue. Also, its only $16 for a pint...
Advise, opinions.... thanks

Yes, but you should still stick with brake caliper paint. Because caliper paint have primer on it, and it also have a gloos that protect against brake dust.

They have a metal prep that helps accept the paint and I figure as long as it doesn't flake because of heat, enamel is "slick" enough to wash off brake dust. I'm sure they thought of that for keeping engine blocks clean as well.
Any more opinions?

If regular paint is working out OK, then this stuff should be no prob! Better choices in colors, too! I could only find basic black, red, blue, yellow colors for "caliper paint"

wow..i painted mine today..well i started yesterday...at 4pm and its not like i have a hydraulic press.
did the drums in high temp silver rustoleum and the calipers in red.
i was debating for a long time between black and red but i like the splash of color. black and red are my favorite web colors and my favorite clothing colors so i figured why not.
well i think i did do one thing wrong. i have leftover paint..onlhy did 2 coats per caliper. putting on the last coat on the last caliper in a few minutes.
i took some digi pics so i will post them soon.
man some people said they did their calipers in like 2 hours or something?
i take it you had some method of rasing your car and taking off all 4 wheels at the same time?
i finally did it though...the before pics as u will see soon were just realllly bad. to anyone thinking about it..i suggest it because to me at least..makes a huge difference.
