my right sidemarker, somehow got stuck under my wheel, and it sucked the whole casing in and shortcircuited it leaving live wires out.... so now i dont have a casing for the right sider marker.. andthe left one shortcircuited after that, so the left one is dead. How do i fix it. should i take it to toyota?. or just buy another casing for the sidemarker, and somehow get the wiring done ?

i would trace the wires up as far as you can and see if they are still in good shape. then just run new wires to reach the socket. when the wires pulled out, they prob touched, and blew a fuse.

however i'm guessing you lost the socket for the right side, so even if you get new sidemarkers, you'll still need the socket.

Get in touch with David Draper. He'll give you the best price on a replacement side marker and socket.

The new socket should come with wires sticking out of it about 6" to 12". This is know in the electrical world as a "pig tail". Then you can wire nut it in, electrical tape it in, butt splice it, or install quick disconnects. I'd go the butt splice or quick disconnect route to make the new connections. I have seen some sockets that open up and then you insert the wires and then close it up.
