I am interested in buying turbo kits for GT from turbokits.com, however, I lived outside of US which means they will be no warrenty and I have to deal with future problems on my own. The kits is looking at $3195 + GT28RS turbo upgrade $695 + Stand alone ECU $895 + shipping cost $340 which comes out $5125. I estimated the installation and tunning labor around 2K, so it will charge me around $7K.

$7K on a 7 years old GT seems to be a bad investment, However, since cars in my country are hella expensive (For example, Nissan GTR is $170K USD), throw in a turbo seems to be the fast and cheapest way comparing to buying a faster car. During these years I owned GT, everytime I regret that I didn't get a GTS instead, but I kept telling myself that I will turboed my GT one day which will make up for that. I hate living with "my car looks fast but it is slow" all the time, but I don't know what it is going to be after turboed. For those who owned turbo kits for GT from turbokits.com, how was the result? Is turboed GT obviously faster than GTS. Does it worth every penny of it? Does it cause problem in the future? Guys, I need your opinion, please! $7K is a lot for me to be honest, therefore I need to make serious consideration.

Great kit, outstanding customer service, overall a good experience

It's all in the tune, but yes a properly tuned turbocharged GT is much quicker than your average bolt on GT-S

Does it worth every penny of it?
This is a question you have to answer yourself, for me I don't regrett dropping the kind of money I did (around $6500 installing myself) however I wouldn't do it again....to a Celica at least.

Does it cause problem in the future?
Anytime you add an aftermarket turbocharger to a car you are going to increase your maintenance requirements

maybe you would also want to look into the mwr kit? im not sure what shipping out of country is for them though.

you could self install most of it if your worried about messing **** up and that would save you some. But i think the overall kit is more expensive and you would probably want boost control, time, and injectors depending on what your aiming for i guess.

My GT is 11yrs old and I boosted it two weeks ago ;)

You ll also need uprated clutch (I got Southbend TZ KYB14) and better brakes (I did GTS brake conversion). All in all, I love my boosted GT and i believe it well worth it if you are a Celica guy.

Spending money on your car is always a bad investment from a monetary standpoint. Its something you do because you are passionate about your car, and have the bug to make it better. It is NEVER a good investment unless the car is ultra rare and increasing in value from restoration.

That doesn't mean its not worth doing - if you have the money and the desire then it can be a real blast.

Can someone share the installation guide? I am thinking to get the kit for my Celica GT also, but like to see how to install prior to dropping the money for it. Thanks!

Well, you just don't get a Turbo and install it in your backyard unless you have intensive experience. Tuning is where money disappears.
