Well NOTHING ever goes right for me. EVER. skunk killer did my gauges a few monthes ago and broke my center console lights. then the needles would stick, but that was fixed by pushing them down. now the lcd is flickering. it looks like maybe one of the leds was soldered crappy and is coming on and off. i hope thats it otherwise i have bigger problems. it just gets brighter and darker. the needles don't though, they light up fine. its possible it could be related to the other stuff he broke i guess. it was working fine for a few monthes then all of the sudden out of no where this happened. no one will ever touch my car again.

has anyone else's lcd done this? what could it be?

mine doesn't, but it sounds like the contact to one of the LED's isn't on there well

i'm hoping thats what it is. because thats the only thing i can think that would be easy to fix. leds don't burn out do they? can anyone hook me up w/ the instructions on how to install the leds in the gauges so that i can resolder whichever one is messed up? don't you have to use certain solder and stuff like that?

basically u go down to ur dashboard... and he may not put enuff silver bearing solder so that at first it worked.. but when the car giggles...etc... over bumps the lack of connection because of the lack of solder becomes apparent... if u lived in nj id fixed it for ya

You've got an LED that losing contact. I 'tested' one out like that when I did mine. On the needle side, 2-4 of the LEDs are all wired in series, so if one loses connection, they all go out. I didn't test the wiring of the LCD, but it sounds like all 13 are in series.

Remove your gauges and you should be able to push on the LEDs and find which one is loose.
