it was cold out so i figured i'd test out my other friend's new camcorder (the old one broke ). the car responded great at first...but then as i drove on, got more sluggish. great being, it picked up speed quite rapidly, i could accelerate from 40 and on in 4th reasonably quick (4th is overdrive on auto GTS). and felt more torquier.
anyhow. this was more or less a ghetto test to see how my car/motor's holding up these days what with the two motor-life-altering incidents a few months ago.
weather conditions:
temp: 49 F (dew point: 43 F)
barometer: 30.26 inches and steady
humidity: 80%
wind: i was running west, wind was southwest at 8mph (obviously the end effect will be less or more cuz i wasn't perfectly west, and was slightly higher up cuz on a service road).
mods:
Injen CAI
TRD Exhaust
AEM Underdrive Pulley (alternator)
Full interior and then some.
overinflated tires (i dunno how much, just that they're over 32 all around)

a quarter mile run. pretty bad. launch sucked, even for an auto GTS. but that 1->2 shift was as good as you can do it on this car. i just had it on the rev limiter a tad too long. the 2->3 shift was horrible, i didn't even touch the limiter so it bogs after the shift at 80. shut down at 90. it was like 16.7 @ 82 (corrected from GTech time/trap). i hit 16.4 @ 83 just a few weeks ago in warmer weather with just intake. the cam switchover sounds crazy in this one.

good 2->3 shift. i was coming up on a truck and couldn't tell if he was stopped in the middle of the road or what. so i was hitting 120 and let off. and hit it again. so i never really got over 121-122. dammit.
car felt pretty slow on the top end (where it runs out of torque, 7600+rpm) and out of VVTL-i (similar to an injen CAI 5000rpm-6000rpm bog, but i dunno if the bog came back so quick. only had CAI on for a month). is this because of the weather?
