An acquaintance of mine told me a tip to keep points off your insurance policy, he told me what to do in order to keep your premium from going up, it sounds like it would work, but what do you guys think...
You get a ticket for lets say... speeding, well lets say your fine is $80.00. Now when you pay your fine to the county (or whomever it may be) give them a check for an amount greater than your fine. Lets say you give them an $87.00 check.
From what he told me, since you overpaid them by $7.00 the county (or whomever) will have to give you a refund of $7.00. So now heres the thing, when you receive the refund check, dont cash it, simply throw it away or rip it up.
Now, since you threw away that check, the accounting books at the county/city, wont balance out, which will keep your folio open with the court, and since you didn't cash that check your folio will never close
From what he said, in order for your insurance rates to go up, your "business" with the court has to be finished, before they can tell your insurance agent about your ticket to increase your premium.
Since your folio stays open, the info will never be passed on to your insurance company... and Voila your insurance rates stay the same...
What do you guys think, makes sense? no...?
