Would there be any interest from the members here for a sidewinder turbo set up I am about to build 2 and while I'm at it I can do a few more. This will be for the manifold only it will be up to you to have the downpipe made for your turbo and upgrading your coolant lines. Also a wire tuck is recommend for this. It will be 304 stainless schedule 40 steel let me know if there is any interested for this.

You have to be a sponsor to sell anything here but I'll leave this up if you want to generate interest/post pics/post progress, just don't make me close it (don't make me come down there Justin...:gap:).

i would be interested depending on price. i will boost my car in the future and have always liked the look of this type of manifold. if the price is right and it looks like a quality piece that will also net some gains ill find a way to make it mine!

when pics arrive I will decide if this is something for me or not =), not really sure how this setup looks like hehe

^no it sits where the battery goes
aha, oki, then I get it =), is there better gains with this setup? or just the looks that it is way cooler to actually see the turbo.

All in who you talk to but you can def cut down on intercooler piping so there will be some gain there and it looks good
Hope this turns out great =D, I would be interested since Iam planning on turbo setup but still cant decide which road to go =)

You think you can find a car that has a sidewinder turbo setup to get a general idea of how it would look like on our cars?

could you do that set up on the end of a PPE race header. that would be sick. just a lot of piping?

I might want one, Pm me a price, this it better than my setup and it's a pain to change the filter now. Plus I wanted to move my battery for more room.

SOOOO sick! Seems like you'd have to ceramic coat it and wrap it to keep engine bay temps down though.

personally i think this is a horrible idea, there is too much stuff in the way for this kind of setup. the ECU, wiring, battery, etc. just not worth it when kits out there have been proven

^ its for people who wire tuck and re-locate the ecu and battery and want more of a flashy appearance for shows etc.. Easier for someone to heist as well though.

I have to agree some here with Smaay, sure battery is not a big problem to relocate, but ECU and the rest of the wiring, thats no walk in the park at least not for me hehe. So lets hope this turns out good and maybe a full kit is made with the proper installthread including the relocating of everything necessery ;D

Thats the main reason yes, it would be really nice looking I think and probablly a bit more gains? and easier to maintain. As for the heist problem hmm well if someone really whants to steal something the do it anyway no matter how hard it is.

On the real, I think the setup looks great, I'd like to see how it looks in the Celica engine bay.

Its not for everybody. Its only for those who want something different and arent afraid to push the limits or their capabilities and their car.
Really looking forward to seeing the result ;D

It would be ideal for RHD cars though I guess who can't currently use any of the kits available ;)
Will be keeping a check on this :)

Its going to look cool, but thats about the only benefit. If short intercooler pathing is your issue just put a W2A IC where the battery normally sits instead and you're done.
who doesnt want to look cool? ;D, still I think I go with proven kits and make it work first and maybe later on do the cool look upgrade =D
where's the turbo getting fresh air from? Or it just sucks up the hot engine bay air?

Probably the hood will have a custom opening that leads straight to the turbo

Tig welding isnt something that can be learned that quick. It takes alot of seat time to get good, especially aluminum.

If you have done oxy/acetylene welding before, then it's pretty easy. I caught on pretty fast. Aluminum does take some time.
