if your like me and have a extra parts car i am interested in getting another 7th gen GTS/GT. i know some of you guys do have donor cars. i would like a GTS. im looking for a roller or a car with minor damage that i can pick up for next to nothing. if it is a roller i would like to find one with a blown motor.. im not worried about interior or any thing as long as the major bits and pieces are there. i want to do a GTS next but change the motor position to accommodate a IRS rear end. my goal would be to mate the 2zz to a W58 by having the bell housing cut and mated to the 2zz.

now the 1zz/2zz to w58 can be done by welding or by adapter plate. getting a plate in the states is very costly due to shipping so the easy way is to cut the bell housing and make a hybrid. they do this to build track cars based off the Super Se7en clones. that being said the 2zz likes the W58. i have been doing a ton of reading about these road course guys that do like the set up. i will be mating the w58 with AE86 rear end. the reason for that is i can use the celica Stock sub-frame as a donor to make it line up to the stock frame position. and use the OEM sub-frame. i would like to do a boosted GTS motor to give it some extra power as the Super Se7en clones are lighter. i figure this build will take me less than half the time my current car took. i would like to start on something like this around the time my celica goes to paint and body.

Subscribed. Next you should do an E153 AWD V6 with the 2gr with Highlander rear, I believe it has almost the same wheel base as the Celica if that matters. :gap:

Hmmm this could be cool. Not sure on your choice of the Corolla rear end though...

only reason for the AE is it is the right width to fit with the stock celica sub frame with minor mods and i think i can do this for under 10k

the matrix rear was an idea but there too hard to find at a good price i also thought about the 240 rear end but im not too familiar with the parts so i would need to look at one. and yes i want the 2zz rear stock subframe mated to what ever rear end i go with. im looking for donor cars now

So you'll be doing a celica front engine rwd? Dream come true! Always wanted a rwd2zz but couldn't drop the 7th gen for an mr2. I love the celicas looks too damn much. In a couple of years, Ill probably be doing this also, keep us posted!!!

i did the RWD 2jz gte conversion and now i think im going to do a write up with this on how to do it i think that if you had the parts handy and had basic welding skills and electrical skills you could do this in your garage for 3000-5000 $

He posted a vid of it moving under it's own power, not of it going down the road though.

Last I heard it couldn't get over 3k rpm due to limp mode so :shrugs: Until I see a non cell phone quality video of it actually drive at speeds above 1mph, I don't think it is anywhere near done
