well i have a TK.com kit, its pretty decent. im having some minor problems with it though as far as installation goes of the AEM FIC that comes with it.

ive literally re mapped everything from an 03-05 to fit the 2000. what i have will work for sure, but i couldnt find anything for the sig gnd. now i dont know if that has to be hooked up or not on the 2000, id say it does but the problem im having is i see where it conects on the 05 but when you look at the wiring diagram there is no wire name for the location its specifing, basically meaning a wire doesnt exist in this position.

if anyone has pictures of their AEM FIC hooked up please post some pics!

it says gt but its gts.

can anyone help?!

this is a diagram a friend made up for the 00-02 models as well for the aem FIC connections... which doesn't exist anywhere else (hence the reason a friend made it up for us) this is the only problem were running into as far as getting it connected. (feel free to repost it and sticky it somewhere if need be)

UPDATE: that diagram worked perfectly. we found the ground a nice home and i now have a functional FIC6. my next question is does anyone have a base map for a 2zz? [like the mwr one] or something??? running the stock map right now... but i just need an idea of where the numbers should be and we can get it going from there.

get rid of that FIC and get a power FC.

only if it were that easy lol

power fc would be nice and for sure something for down the road, but as of now im stuck with the FIC.

then you will be stuck with more problems

lol is it really that terrible? i mean as far as being able to control fuel trims while in boost i'll be good.... not going for insane power levels, i just got the turbokit on [anyone considering the TK.com kit, pm me before hand, i'll save you hours of trouble and headaches] and am really just trying to get it running decent. have you had personal experience as far as failures go or is it just a personal preference thing? [not questioning you, just open to all opinions and expereience]

^^^smaay's has experience on both hence he's suggesting that you should get a pfc. the real problem is, anything piggy back on the ecu is just problematic. if you're going to boost, do it right because it'll only help you out on the long run.

I dealt with TK.com also never experienced any real headaches with them. What happened with your experience?

Also pfc is the only way to go.

the problem is the FIC is that Toyota signals are considered "noisy" you need to put some resistors in parallel with the crank signal or it gets confused. even then it doesn't seem to work just right. I have been running one in my 6th gen celica and its constantly fighting with the stock ECU, and its stupid compared to the 7th gen ECU.

plus the FIC does not control VVT which is where you can gain some considerable gains. when we were tuning my car a few years ago, we reached the peak of AF tuning and then started VVT tuning. i gained almost 100 more HP in just VVT tuning. plus the drive-ability was much better

For a 2zz you really want a PFC if it's going to run its best with a turbo. Big difference.

If you are going to use the FIC then take it to a dyno for a proper tune. Much safer than relying on a generic turbo tune.

Yup. Piggybacks are not a good choice for big Turbos. PFC is a much better choice and I make a plug N play harness you can use to hook it up.

I will also be offering the Pro EFI for DBW cars once we get our new dyno installed, and it will piggyback to teh stock ECU for gauge and A/C opration ONLY - the throttle will be run by the Pro EFI unit.
