Has anyone installed these before? They don't come with any instructions for wiring to the car. There are 4 different leads coming from the gauge box and I have no idea what goes where. There is a black/red connection, Orange/black, grey, and blue/yellow/green. What goes where??? I really need to get this done tonight, so PLEASE help!!

Red = Power = Cig Lighter
Black = Ground = Screw under steering column
Connect those two first. The blue/green and yellow should be a 3 pin connect that one to the only 3 pin head (dimmer). Connect the orange/black to the other 2 pin on the dimmer. Then connect the gray to the indiglo wire. It is a 2 pin also.

True...I had a total brain cramp there. It took a lot longer then I anticipated to do the blue led install and it was getting late. I guess I wasn't thinking to clearly when I started the gauge install. I figured it out. It was worth the time!

How do you wire into the cigarette lighter?

Green wire is the cig lighter wire you wanna connect to.

Is there a diagram somewhere of how this is all set up? Where did most of you put your dimmer switch?

Nope. Connect the power wire to the green wire that leads to the light of the cig lighter. Not the actuall cig light. Thats kinda confusing. Trial and error. Connect to one of them turn on your headlights and if your gauges light up its the right one. There are only two green wires. Only directly connected to the cig lighter and one is connected to the light of the cig lighter. You want the one that leads to the light. Alot of people just hook it up to the power wire of the cig lighter and it turns off when you turn off your car. Thats the easiest way.

I heard that often when that wire was used, it would be too dim for gauge us, I suppose it worked fine for you?

Yep just fine. I had it hooked up to the cig lighter power wire and when I would turn on the engine it would turn on. But when I put the key in the ON position it would be on. It was weird but when I hooked it up to the light of the cig lighter, no problem and it comes on when he headlights are turned on.

its late.. i hope i dont sound stoopid right now but, i just ran the red wire to the fusebox and wedged it in with the taillight fuse. headlights on = taillights on. easy as that.

Ok, I'm looking at wires on this thing now. Is the patch of wires that runs beneath the steering wheel into the ac/cigarette lighter area the right one for the cig lighter light? I see only one green wire so I'm skeptical. Does anyone know the best way to get to this wire?

For future reference,
there are 4 wires running to the cig. lighter:
black
white w/black stripe
white w/green stripe
green

if you want to run the gauges to the cig light it is the green wire.
I think it provides enough power for the gauge. I don't know how much brighter it gets on another wire, but I think I'm good where its at.
