I tried jetchip and it worked for me. I have Cai, headers, aftermarket maf, 1 inch throttle body spacer, alternater and crank pulley. Before jetchip my car threw codes all the time but it runs great now

So you guys know it all, how do you know it didn't work for me.
Headers yes, I have two. One coat in grey and other in black to see which one lower the heat better. A friend sold me both from OBX

So you guys know it all, how do you know it didn't work for me.Because your ECU is not programmable. The only thing these chips can do is "tweak" the voltage comming from some of the primary sensors and tricking the ECU into adding fuel and timing. Problem is that the Toyota ECUs rely on so many different sensors and parameters that are locked in and not accessible that the ECU basically renders the chips useless in short order as it adjusts fuel based on input from secondary sensors.

Jetchip probably did just a reset on your ECU and let it relearn idle and fuel trims. They restored your lost performance, they didn't add any new gains. Then they sold you a chip in the process.

No ****in way. But I had so much problems with the car when I installed the throttle body. Now its fine. Soooooo when they say to reset the ECU all you have do is disconnect the battery cable for 30 seconds is a lie. :(

Did you send them just your ECU?

I walked it in. 2 hours later got it back

Then you basically paid them for something you did already by removing the ECU: A reset.

You also paid them to do something that you could have done yourself: Opening the throttle wider on partial throttle inputs.

What these chips basically do is fooling the ECU into thinking that your throttle is 40% open when it's actually only 20% open (by your right foot), or 60% open when you are only at 40%, etc etc. By doing that they are basically fooling you too, into thinking the chip is working when they are basically employing a more aggressive fuel curve. (See my earlier reply about tweaking voltage numbers to the ECU). The catch however is that the more you open the throttle the more the chip fuel curve approaches the normal ECU fuel curve. The bigger catch however is that once the chip voltage reaches the WOT threshold the ECU goes to open loop by default and uses the max fuel curve programmed in. The buttdyno feels that the car is working better at part throttle but you in fact getting no gains. What you basically accomplished was that you paid Jetchip for a heavier leadfoot. ;)

Well I guess. It fixed my car problem

I'm willing to bet it just masked the problems but if you're happy then more power to you, no pun intended.

I guess I love the performance. I've heard about the complaints but decided fuk it the car ecu need help from somewhere fast

Well it was like two years ago. Hey what about that system from Power Enterprise

I have a magic ecu also.... it's called Power FC! And it refuses to go lower then 20 degrees of timing at idle!

Am I really reading all of this?! I thought 310celicagt2003 was trolling at first, Jesus.

^ so did I. Might as well get those eBay 'chips' that add 50hp and 10 mpg

You two (Robo56 & dead_star04) are stupid fuks. If trolling I would not add as much detail. Anyway to get back on track thank you GSBoek for the info.
