I've started tuning my car and need some guidance from the forum.

I finally have a good base map that's taken several months to create and I want to start to dial in the tune. The goal is to become good enough at narrowing down cells so I can comfortably tune the car when I turbo it again in the summer. Some background on the motor & drivetrain.

mahle 9:0.1 pistons
crower max-light rods
ported and polished head
3 angle valve job
ported stock header
fidanza flywheel
act stage 2 clutch
8600k redline

I want to work on my base map more but its hard to because the wideband isnt recording through the datalogit box. I have the white logging wire into an1, and the ground split to an2 and the chasis ground. set-up for an1-2 wideband and calibrated but I'm still getting no reading from the gauge. Any ideas why this isn't working?

What wideband gauge are you running? Try without the ground and see if it will get a reading.

Its the AEM uego digital. I tried without ground and it didn't work.
I wired it just like Jesse had recommended in the how to tune a power fc.

That didn't work so I found 3 or 4 guides online that all matched each other and that didnt work. I'm also recently getting a lot of idle surging, I think my IACV has gone bad.

that gauge isnt working itself? sounds like you have a bad gauge

the gauge is working perfect. I'm just not getting any input to my datalogit causing fc edit to show no value for an1-2 wideband

The gauge output might have a problem...

Post your idle log and maybe we'll give you a solution.

I have my AEM grounding to the cigarette lighter ground and also I have a wire run to the sensor ground on the back of the head and that seems to keep the signal true and clean.

No idea why you are having issues.

my wideband isnt grounded to the head nor is the gauge. Not sure that would make a difference though.
I've also noticed it dimming and getting brighter as the car idles. Do you think that I could have grounded to the dimmer circuit by accident and its messing everything up?

Found out that the AEM digital gauges are auto dimming when in the shade so that explains that mystery. I fixed my dimming circuit and hoping by luck its going to affect the wideband input to the datalogit box.

Dimming circuit did not fix the issue.

Turns out that I wasnt getting any basic readings or sensor readings because they weren't selected on the monitor screen.
Found that my wideband is reading lead so the car is actually extremely rich all the time (wideband reads 12:1 car is actually 10.8:1 as an example). So I have to calibrate my wideband to match, won't take that long, then go through my recent log and reduce the base map values, then build a new water temp map since the car was idling rich at 11:1 when warmed up.

more progress when I get time

The wideband readings should be the correct values. You will have to alter the pfc values to match the wideband gauge.

I like the engine bay man! :hitit: lol

I'll look into both a little closer. Having a problem with fc edit opening logs now.

Thanks. It still needs a bit of work before its finished. Gotta finish painting engine parts black and clean up the body filler

I was using the Zeitronix ZT-2 correction by accident. Going back to the AEM defaults should fix the fc-edit readings.

fc a/f readings still a little off.

I've had some time recently to play with the tune more, but I can't open my logs in fc-edit.
I've uninstalled and re-installed twice now without being able to open them. Would anyone be willing to take the log and try opening it on their system?

Anybody got anidea why the logs arent re-opening?
reinstalled fc-edit twice now still no luck.
