Can you compare the amount of money and cost into fixing (not modding) the Celica and your Eclipse? Which one would you say you have less problems with?

i dont think it would be a fair comparison... seeing how much more boost he runs on the clipse than he did on the celi (none just 50 shot)

its a common known fact amoungst DSMers.. if you have a DSM and intend on going fast get another car as a daily driver.. the car will break..
but believe it or not I actually had more problems with the Celica.. but I cant compare.. the 2 cars are like night and day.. the Eclipse is straight up balls to wall fast and the Celica was just fun to drive..
i think it would be nice to have a gst and a gt-s..one for the track one for daily drivig

well if the Eclipse were a track car itd be a 1st gen AWD.. not my 2g FWD.. regardless Id love to have both.. but at the same time after driving my Eclipse and yearning for more and more power I know the Celica wouldnt cut it for me.. id have to boost it some how

Larry is a boost addict. Once you go boost, you never want to go back.

Larry need to try out a Celica Alltrac :) I mean if he thinks the ECLIPSE is nice.... Boy needs to be delivered unto the promised land where boost, traction, and ungodly handling become one :) Dat car is on rails, much more so than the AWD Talons I have driven. Mind you the eclipse feels a little sportier to sit in than the Celica does, although the exteriors are equally good looking in different ways (that hood on the alltrac is just sooooo sexy )
I will say this tho - they used a slightly bigger shoehorn to cram the powertrain in than they did on the eclipse. The mitsu is just tight, you have to measure freespace in an alltrac engine compartment with a friggin feeler gauge ;) Which is why the first thing I did was to yank the front bumper, fans, radiator and condensor. It has nothing to do with looking for room for a big ol FMIC I swear... Okay maybe a little :)

hahahhaha. I still wish my dad got a all-trac back in '90 instead of a GT :(

I was thinking about getting a AWD talon like a 93 or 92. They got a 16g turbo already and runs 14.3 all day. I might get one to be my track racing car for the weekend. Not sure yet, I have to see.

I hear ya - I had to get one shipped from the other side of the country to get one cheap. (thats becoming all too common these days) Most of em in good condition are running about 8 - 15K an then ya have to pay shipping. Eclipse is way more common and easy to come by local. (hence also easier to get junkyard parts for N stuff) for a daily driver with big power you probably make the right call. But to shun AWD... for SHAME! :D Course then again I'm not big on building up your daily driver to huge power - built cars break too much until you get the bugs worked out.
Theres an old saying - if your going to go all out - make sure you didn't drive to the track.
Out of curiosity how would you say the handling of your Mitsu stacks up against your old Celica?

i have a full suspension on my Eclipse vs only strut bars and springs on my Celica and the Celica would run circles around my eclipse.. my car is to heavy.. a lil over 3000lbs.. if it was AWD itd be alot better handling though
