This is one of the few sites I've seen that doesn't have this online. I think it would be a good idea and would help a lot of people out.

do you have any links to sites that do? GTSLAID has posted a lot of info from Toyota service manuals with detailed instructions right in this Repair & Maintenance section of the forum. I know its not the factory service manual page for page but its still pretty informative. I think maybe they haven't posted the entire manual for legal copyright reasons, or its just too many pages to deal with.

something like this: http://www.mkiv.com/manual/index.html

I just think it would benefit the site a lot, put it above the others. And I know the manuals themselves are pricey, and people already with the manuals might feel that if people want to have the info that they should have to buy them also, but that's all up to opinion of the owners. I'd just rather have the info on here so we don't have to go to dealers and hope they fix our cars right anymore. My friend owns a 94 Supra TT and I now know more about his car than my own, he's had it for 4 months and I've had mine for 2 years!

EDIT: also, GTS Laid is doing a great job dealing with info requests, and another part of my reasoning is to just have ALL the info on here so he doesn't have to find it everytime there is a request. The guy deserves a break. :)

I'm sure Toyota wouldn't like their manuals being copied since they're pretty expensive. I'm not sure if it's illegal or not to copy them and post them on the net (kinda like copying MP3's).

BTW, your buds in OT miss you, FIFI. :)

those manuals are garbage...

Let me give you a break-down of what every one of those cheezy checker/pepboys books say....

"Undo bolts from part, remove, inspect, replace, put back in reverse order"

really, thats about it, the pics suck, the wire diagrams suck...I used to by them for torque specs, but those are wrong half the time anyway...

So go buy a paper copy - thats what some of us have done. And we have all the info we need, just dont have 200 hours to scan all 2000 pages or whatever it is, or a site to host it.

Whoah. Where did I say I wasn't greatful? It was just a suggestion, I don't remember demanding you to scan anything. Pardon me for having an idea.

I appologize - that was pretty rude. But seriously - that would be a HUGE amount of work to scan the manual and it would take a big chunk of drive space if stored at any usefull resolution. Its just asking a lot is all.

hey no harm, no foul :)

I haven't seen the manuals myself so I didn't know how big they were, so I thought I would just throw the idea out there. Maybe I'll get the manuals sooner or later and scan them, I could host them on imagestation.com for free.
