Not the greatest or most flattering pics, but you get the idea. I need to take the car out of the garage and get some full body shots. Here they are:

The kit is not finished for those of you who are wondering. There are fender flares coming, which will make this a wide body kit. They should be here this month sometime. The kit is planned to be released to the public in the January-February time frame. What do you all think?

I got the kit first because I'm their sponsored Celica. My car is supposed to be the model for their sales ads, website, etc. Yes, I'll be at the meet this weekend. I think it's at the same place; no one has said. She looks a lot better in person. I can't wait to get the rest of the kit!!! It's supposed to be on it's way.

ok i have to respond. maybe once you have the fender flares it'll look alot better but right now it looks boxy. and i understand that your car is theyre sponsored car but pick some decals that are original to you, not those used by another car, oh and those decals are gonna get ruined over the winter. oh and nice fire extinguisher if you get in a collision the airbag is gonna throw that through someones head if you have any passengers.

Eric,
Didn't your mother ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, you should say nothing at all? I realize that the sides look a bit odd without the fender flares, which is why I noted they were coming. I appreciate your opinion though.
I don't however appreciate your comments on my graphics or the fire extinguisher. I'm in the process of drawing up my own graphics that will be on the car before show season, but until then... I will be wearing the current vinyl. Shame on you for being nasty on the message board; take your anger management elsewhere. You seemed a lot nicer when I met you at Nopi.

Hey Allison, I have to apologize. I left my comp logged on at work and well a pain in the ass coworker decided to post his comments and opinions with my name b/c i left the board up. I do like your car, actually through a friend at HIRCC.com he may be getting me that kit or part of that kit or something, i'm not sure what. I'm not fond of your graphics but i'm glad your going with a different scheme for the shows, b/c I am actually in the process of doing the same thing. sorry again.

Eric,
I accept your apology; I must admit I was awfully surprised by it in the first place. I just couldn't imagine you being a mean person. I'm anxious to finish my design; mostly because I'm tired of people asking me where they can get the fnf graphics. They'll be off the car by January or February.
If you really do want part of the kit, I'll see what I can do. I'm sure I can get you a good deal. The guys are Ground Designs are really cool.

Timeport-
Go to hell. No wonder people are contantly attacking you on the message boards. You're a prick. And coming from the person who's celica was voted the ugliest, I think you need to shut your pie-hole. Don't you have anything better to do than sleaze through the board being nasty?? Nobody cares what you think... all you do is talk ****. I posted pictures to get opinions and to show celica owners a new kit. I can handle criticism; but I see no need for anyone to be flat out rude... like you, especially when were not directed at you.
Oh, and turn off CAP LOCKS you fool; it gets tired.

i'm actually interested in the fender flates, but i'm gonna have to see how they look. unfortunately/and good, your car is the first car to have it, so you get to know whether or not something looks bad or looks really good.

gt-sbaby
12-07-2001, 09:05 AM
well, there's good and bad news about the fender flares. If you notice, the rest of the kit (the part that's already on the car) is designed to fit with the fender flares; so I'm not sure how it would go with the Kaminari kit (that's what you have, right?). And the kit is fiberglass. You should, however, be able to mold the fender flares into the car; that's what I plan on doing. The back will flare out a bit more than the front... which is cool because I want a larger offset in the back.
Like I've said, I should have the rest of the kit before the end of the month. I'm sure I'll run into you during show season sometime, and if you're ever down this way, you and your girl are more than welcome to come stay with me and Haden (Jezturgts2k) or Nick and Mandy. That way you can see it in person. Or.... have you ever thought of making an appearance at a DC meet? If you do, I'll make an effort to go.

Sweet car and kit! I would love to see it with the fender flares. How much would this kit be when it comes on sale? Fiberglass or urathane?

gt-sbaby
02-19-2002, 05:39 AM
I'm thinking it's about $1000... you'd have to check it out. There are some places selling it now, but not many. Just because they're selling it though doesn't mean it's immediately available. Right now the only pieces manufactured are the four main pieces, fender flares, and the wing. The wing and fender flares are going on my car this wednesday (whoohoo!), but the hood is still being made. The wing sells for about $375, and I believe that the fender flares are about the same. So the entire 9 piece kit is going to run you anywhere between $1750 and $2000, depending on where you buy it from.

I saw that kit for sale on e-bay. The bidding starts at $1000.

I still think it is ugly. Makes the car look heavy, not sleek anymore.

gt-sbaby

It's all a matter of personal opinion... you also have to keep in mind that pictures don't always do it for a car. If you saw it in person, you might think differently. I know that I've seen pictures of kits and hated them, then saw them in person and loved them. That's exactly what buddy club did to me, and the exact opposite of veilside. Veilside is nasty in person... in my opinion.
As far as the guy selling it on ebay, I have to say that I don't think he has the kit in his hands. According to the owner of ground designs, there's only 4 of those kits in existance right now. I have one, my shop has another, and the other two are sitting at ground designs in southern california. People are selling the kit in anticipation of recieving them from ground designs. So anyone looking to buy the kit, call ground designs ahead of time to be sure they're shipping so you don't get screwed.

Go to http://grounddesigns2000.com
Go to black widow, then black widow 2 kits, then celica. first page is a full kit (since mine still isn't done) and then the second page is my car.

Hey Alison,
Sweet kit...I went to the site to check out the pics...I like everything but the fenders...they make the celica look like a 3G eclipse wanna be...you know what I mean?

I've always though of the celica as having SHARP looks...and the kit (aside from fenders and spoiler - I think the fenders and spoiler take away from the smooth, sharp lines of the celica - they add "bumps" in the body of the celica that takes away from the sharpness of the overall look) doesn't take away from that...so awesome job. For those of you that don't like the sideskirts, you could always put buddy club skirts on there and that would look sweet too.

Actually...I think your car (without the flares and spoiler, of course ;)) looks awesome.

Awesome job, Alison.

Hanwei,
I don't think the fender flares are that bad, but it'll only look really good if the car is slammed and the wheels come out to line up with the kit. They also need to be molded in. As of now, the wheels are about 2 inches further in than the kit. You can only use spacers for so much, ya know? I'm going to have to swap my springs for coil overs so I can have a 4 inch drop at shows. Right now I've got a 2 inch drop, and it's not enough... especially since I've got 18's with 215/40 rubber.
Once my sponsorship is up with ground designs, I might just swap out my sideskirts (if I don't mold the kit) and then keep the front and rear bumpers. The wing will definitely have a short life span... I don't think it compliments the car's design at all.

Well actually when it is complete it will be a 12 peice kit Allison not a 9 piece. Ground Designs informed me that the hood is done and the FENDERS(not flares are done). Some there will be avaliable
Front Bumper 1
Sides 2
Rear 1
Fenders 2
Flares 4
Hood 1
Wing 1

12

I know this because i just bought the whole 12 piece kit for like 2500

CarbonBlue02,
The fenders are not set it stone yet from my understanding. They might not be producing the fenders from what I understand because it would require removing the fender flares, if already on the vehicle. I'm not really sure how they're going to handle that.
I'm not sure who you bought the "full" kit from, but I can assure you that you won't be getting the hood or the fenders, if they even decide to produce them, any time soon. Once again, I'm the sponsored celica and I still don't even have them. I'll be calling Ground Designs today to see when I can expect the hood and I'll ask about the fenders.
Where did you buy your kit from?

******************************************
Just got off the phone with Ground Designs and there is no hood and no fenders... if there ever is a hood, it won't be until the end of the summer, and they're probably not going to make the fenders at all. So I don't know who you "bought" your 12 piece kit from, but you got jacked.
And here's a question for you CarbonBlue02, if you already paid for and ordered your full black widow 2 kit, why are you trying to buy a buddy club front bumper from another celica owner?
