depends what you wanna do to it.. if it were me and I was doing an engine swap..it would be a 3sgte.. the 2zzge isnt a proven engine as of yet..

I agree with Larry that the 3S-GTE would be a better option. Even after the 2ZZ-GE proves itself, it still won't be a 3S-GTE. The bigger question for you is which one will fit easier. If you're seriously considering the swap, that should be the first thing to find out.

if you have a newer corolla with the 1ZZ-FE, i'd imagine the 2ZZ-GE would be a lot easier to fit in there. but it's not turbo/forced induction friendly yet. you'd need lower compression pistons and whatnot to get some big boost out of it. it's good as is for n/a, but aren't many n/a parts out yet either.

basically, if you want 180-200hp @ the crank for your corolla in a high revving 4 banger, and wait for mods, 2ZZ is good choice. if you want turboed goodness with obscene power levels, 3S-GTE all the way.

If you have a new Corolla, it MIGHT be possible. The 2zz will fit, but doesn't work is the question. It has totally different wiring harnesses and pins. They won't line up correctly. You would have to ask a SERIOUS Toyota Master Tech that doesn't work at a dealership to make it work.
But if the 3Gste fits, I say for that instead.:)

i do have the 1zz... thats whats made me think that the 2zz would be an easier swap... and as for n/a part.... im used to it... im also thinking about maybe a good lexus engine... or getting a really nice japanese racing engine.... so the gs-gte is the choice from yall?? i appriate it

Damn it, just trade in your Corolla and get a Celica GTS, that will solve your problems:D

Why don't you just turbo charge the engine you already have. It won't be long before FI kits are available for the 1zz engine across the board (Celica, Corolla, MR2, Matrix/Vibe).

the corolola is about 2300lbs i believe... less than your celica... add the 2zzge and youve got faster than your celica too... besides ive grown rather partial to my corolla

why would u wanna do that, the balance of the car will be destriyed if the car is pushing over 160 hp, plus its rwd and the 4a-ge can take some serious abuse.
I personally would and will leave the 4a-ge in our ae

If u swap engines, wouldn't it be more of a hasle??? Well if you get a 6 speed GTS, you don' t have to worry about anything. Just sit back relax and enjoy the ride.

I used to drive a 94 Corolla and I almost swap my engine with a Turbo MR2 because I have seen one with this set up but don't know if he gained power.

Sell your Corolla, save your labor and buy a used GTS, better off this way as your Corolla with have no resale value after the swap. Why would you want to swap into a Corolla?

SCC did a swap of a wrecked 87 Integra engine into a 86 Civic SI, why not just buy a used Integra? So much work involved and the 86 Civic chassis is probably weakened so much that it will not support the added power.
