I'm going on a long highway trip and want to carry an extra container of oil. Where is the best place to store it? I know there are some spots under the mat in the trunk so that might be good. Any other methods you guys use to carry oil (or even washer fluid, for that matter)?
Thanks.

I use a plastic milk crate ripped off from a grocery store and a bungie cord (this can be ripped off from the same store if your feeling saucy! ;)). Just go around back where the trucks unload and they usually have stacks of milk crates back there. Just be sure to wash it off good before you use it - sometimes thay have sour milk or cow sh!t on them, and I'm dead serious...

Depents on how much lugage you are going to put in the trunk. If you need the oil you have to unload the whole trunk to get the oil.
Maybe behind the panel with the jack is a better place........

Mistrimeat: Good idea. I already have a few that I use to prop up computers. I could do that but my space is low since I'm bringing a bunch of music gear on the trip.
Anything else?

TaeMachine:
That would be a good idea if I bought a box-full. I just buy one or two to last me when I need them. I think I'll go with the milk crate idea or some kind of box.

Two quarts of oil fit perfectly behind the panel on the other side where the jack is. Loads of room to stash all kinds of things. I keep one quart of oil where the jack is and jumper cables on the other side. Stick it and forget it until needed keeps down clutter.

lol.. you shouldn't need the oil.. i tend to keep a couple bottles in the spare (cuz i'm usually too lazy to bring em up to my apt)
soon enough, I'll have enough for a free oil change again :)

Probably, but stealing milk crates is more challenging.
