2003 toyota celica GTS (6)

hi. im planing on buying the new (and improved) celica gts in february. trading my slow pos auto gt. anyways, i was just wondering, will the engine all be pretty much the same? reason for asking is i wanna start orderin my parts for it right now. i want to order my AEM CAI, but it says that its only for the 00-02. now i was thinking it probably only says that cuz the 03's arent released yet. but im not sure. so does anybody know if its all gonna be the same, so it will fit? thanks :)

keep in mind there is not much info on it, the engine will probably stay the same, so don't assume it will be improved. IMO I say just hold on on buying stuff until official word is given, but most likely the fascia (f/r) will change a little bit, HID's but I doubt the engine will change.

I'd hold off too. No one really knows the specs of the '03's yet.

Yeah, but I just got a call from the salesman I'll be meeting with for the test drive, and he told me his dealership won't have them before Septemeber sometime. I called another dealership just to see if they are reporting the same delivery date and sure enough, they also confirmed no Celica's until September sometime. I would be very suprised at this point if dealerships will have them on the lot in August.

Also, like some of the other people here have said, I seriously doubt Toyota is changing the engine specs at all. More horsepower, and more torque would be great, but that will have to wait until the next gen, if at all. During my test drive of the 2002 it was weird, but I never really felt like the car was torque deficient. You think, 130 torque, which does sound whimpy, but with a 2500 lb car, it is more than sufficient.

theres one huge ass toyota dealership around here.....i saw a brand new white action package GTS with dealerplates.... it had a side vent..... like NSX size... this is a brand new car too.... MAYBE just MAYBE.... this dealership got them already and this dude bought it this morning.... if that's true.... 03's mite have side vents... im just speculating here..... i mean... this car looked like it was bone stock.... even had lightning rod antenna....IMHO wait on it man.

i could very well be wrong.... but iono what that guy was doing... whose first mod is NSX side vents?!? maybe a rich mutha $#%...i dont have a camera... just wait and see.. i could be wrong it was a brand new car tho.... nobody takes a brand new car and puts a hole in the rear fender....liuman...haha that celica looks like a friking tibbyrun...(i know thats not how u spell it... thats what i call it).... i see they painted the side skirt...

that looks a lot like the car someone else posted. people said it was the concept car the celica was created from..... but theres a lot of evidence that this may be the 2003....

Here it shows all models with what your describing ... painted side skirts(only on some of them ... it might be a new option), and notice the NEW brake lights !! they look good! it has a new front too! Its ok in my opinion .. ours is better, but an aftermaket will fix it up quick. Im in for the brake lights!
Maybe they creted a WHOLE NEW ACTION PACKAGE FOR THIS!
Maybe like you said you saw side vents. Click on all 3 photo bars. I think thats the new Yellow for the celi too comin to the US. Looks good ... like the IS300!

Wonder how an s2000 antenna will look up there in the front centre. Seems a bit weird but even the stock one doesn't look too bad.

I much prefer the black interior to the bright grey I have.
