what happend to the el prototype project?

I remember they tweeked the ecu to rev till 9000 rpms and they said it kept makign power up there.

why'd they not release this?

The GTS makes its peak power at 7600rpm, so it was not making "more power" at that rpm. Moving the rev limiter up to that point would, however, make it much easier to stay on the second cam power band during shifts.

This all happend a long time ago so I don't remember exactly what happend to the project. I think that they were bending valves because of the changes they were trying to make with the timeing when they were tweaking it. They were only getting between 10 and 15 hp increase over stock, which wasn't enough for them because they wanted a power increase that would warrent the cost of the product to the consumer. I don't think that they were able to get enough out of the car because I think that the project has been cancelled. The only reason I think that its been cancelled is that I haven't heard anything about it for a really long time, so it may still be going on, I don't know.
