Need help...2nd Gear grinding...

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE A PROBLEM WITH SHIFTING TO 2ND GEAR?? SOMETIMES IT TENDS TO GRIND FOR ME..WHEN I KNOW IM USING THE CLUTCH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE TOO?? IS IT JUST ME BEING A BAD DRIVER OR IS IT THE CELICA?? IT MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN IM ACCELERATING FASTER....:confused:

HAD SAME PROB IN MY LAST TWO CARS. IT IS YOUR SYNCHRO MESH IN YOUR TRANSMISSION. TAKE IT TO THE SHOP SOON OTHERWISE YOU WILL LOSE 2ND ALL TOGETHER.

Mine used to do that if I shifted from 1st to 2nd at over 7500 RPM, which really sucked. It got a little better with the free new clutch that I got and I was able to rev to 8300 RPM and shift just fine most of the time. It was tricky and didn't sound good at all when it didn't hit just right. Too iffy IMO, didn't feel right.

I noticed a squeak whenever I shifted to 2nd..so I took it in to the dealer..the only thing they did was lube up the gears...Ive had no problems since then..the squeaking went away too..it seems like I dont even need to force into gears no more, almost as if it just slides in there...

Mine is being a pain in the butt right now. I just had 2nd, 4th, and I think it was 5th replaced a few months ago. Now when the car is cold I can hardly shift into 2nd without it grinding. Once it warms up it is fine. 3rd gear is also being a pain. Maybe I should see if they can lube up the gears in mine. Hey man, did you get your car at Checkered Flag Toyo in VA Beach?

I took mine into Charles Barker Toyota on Laskin Rd...they didnt charge me anything at all since it was only a little bit of oil..Im pretty sure that Checkered Flag would do the same but you might wanna ask them...
