I have had the same problems with my mis shifts and had to replace two clutches since it happened twice and havd the valves or head redone once and.... I have had two shortblocks from having a spun bearing yes it also happened twice. Personal note ... Proper maintinance is very important . Toyota has come through for me . besides I got ripped on the financing geesh another long story :)

CelicaGtS02 -

I'm from north of Ft Worth. I had my engine replaced at Freeman Toyota, very good experience. The service manager Mike is extremely good to work with... but they greased up my interior and scractched up my console pretty good when all was said and done.... also, good luck getting your celi back within 2-3 months. The replacement takes forever if they have to ship the engine from japan.

Well they said they just finished with the engine and said its running fine, but he had a problem shifting so they are going to replace my clutch for me.

dont worry bro.. itll feel like that once you jus get it back...same thing happened to me in the beginning of the summer...bent my valves from misshifting...i knew something was wrong with the engine once it happened...also this tickin sound started so i brought it in the dealership next day..they said that was normal for GTS's...i said cool...but i jus felt uneasy about it, so i kept bringin it back to them until they finally said "okay we'll check it out" ...turns out by this time i had bent valves, cracked head, stretched timing chain, water pump leak, and pistons burnt...at first they said warranty wasnt gonna cover this...they figured i was racing it because my car was gutted out...i was like "bullsh*t!!"...so i took it up to a higher management and everything worked out...they replaced everything under warranty..practically a new motor..haha..so anyways, jus make sure you break your car in till about 500-1000 miles before you start goin ballistic past that 6k mark..aite...cool..jus thought id give my 2 cents on this subject...layte

Update:

Took car in at 7 am...... they figured the problem out at 7 pm..... they said the ECU harness was plugged in correctly... the guy i bought it from plugged it in wrong and which meant my car has not been running at full potential... they said it may not be under warranty tho, any suggestions?
