i have an auto gt...ya..i know....i was wondering if tightening the throttle cable would be any good.

the install says: The basic premise is that if your throttle is tight, you can feel when you're giving it gas and then as soon as you lose contact with the pedal, you aren't accellerating. It helps in shifting and it makes the car feel really responsive, I recommend the effort to do it.

should i do it? just so my car can be more responsive? or should i not cuz i have an auto? there is a slight delay when i floor it....and it pisses me off. would this help the problem?

The delay you are describing is probably the tranny shifting into a lower gear when you floor it, it takes about a second for it to happen. It's not going to hurt your car as long as you over tighten it, and it only takes 5 minutes to do. Play with the nuts (not your nuts, the throttle cable's nuts :chuckles: ) and decide when you think it's tight enough, turn the car on, if it idles where it should then you're ok, if it idles at like 3000 rpms then it's too tight (you'll probably do that, I did), if it's too tight, turn the car off and loosen it a bit, and repeat until it's idling where it should be. It's easiest when the car is fully warmed up, it should idle around 800 rpms.

The adjustment method I reccomend is to make sure that you can move the throttle cable where it makes its bend over on the passenger side without actually movign the bellcrank. If you move the housing a little bit and the bellcrank fo rteh throttle moves it is too tight.
