any one here installed their own alarm>>/?..i thinking of installing a auto window up/down. i wonder how hard this will be
It is very simple to do on Celica's since we have the window controls in the center instead of on the door. :)
All you need to do is pick up a window module...imo DEI makes an awesome product for very cheap, less than $40 at most places.
If you want up and down without the hassles or worries of relays, invest in 2 of these modules.

You can integrate that module very easy to any aftermarket alarm system. If you get as far as getting the module...hit me with an email and I will give you better instructions on what wires to cut at the window switch. :)

hey there IRL. i hve a viper 550esp. is it easy to install this add on to my car alarm?. so when i get this add on module. i can open and close my window remotely?
BlackGTS2002 - I have never worked with the Factory VIP Toyota alarm...but I would say that it would not be compatible. IT very well might work...but considering the units the dealerships use are simple/basic...chances are you wont have the EXT outputs to make the window module work.
As for the 550esp. It will definently work with that unit. The easiest would be to make it roll the windows up on "lock/arm". If you really wanted to you could use your channel 2 to roll them up, and channel 3 to roll them down.
Its a personal preference. In my car I have it so when I lock/arm the alarm the windows go up. Then if I want to lower them I can do so 3" at a time using my channel 3 output from my alarm. Its great being able to just vent the windows instead of a full blown down all the time. :)
