I've talked about possibly doing a 8" sub under the dash on the passenger side. but i realized the air filter is right behind the glove box, and there are also the foot vents for the a/c. is that filter for the in-cabin air, or exterior air? and is there an intake where it picks up air from in the cabin under there? i have a feeling i'd be blocking something important by doing the sub down there.

It blows air from top to bottom I think. Don't know if its inside or outside air.

well i was just thinking that the inside air setting must pull air from somewhere, and a filter is right there, and i thought that filter was for inside air, so i was thinking maybe it pulls it from the footwell. it could pull it from up top of the dash too i guess. anyone know?

i'll probably just have to skip the 8 under the dash, but it would be so cool!

The fan/filter pulls air from the top of the unit to the bottom. Outside air comes in through the screened grills under the wiper arms. I assume that there is some sort of bypass intake for when you switch to inside air. There is only one fan blowing air in one direction so it must some how get routed to the top before entering the system.

The vents that blow on your feet are located in the middle of the car at the back of the center console.

Try dropping the glove box and getting your head down under there while the car is on. Switch from outside to inside air and see if you can feel where it draws from. Best with the fan on high.

Inside air is sucked into the system at the top of the dash right behind the passenger side airbag, through the white plastic grill. Outside air passes through the firewall here too, entering right under the wiper arm.

Doesn't look like it would be a good idea to totally seal off the underside of the dash.
