View Full Version : Phase Seven decals?

I just started a new thread because the other one was getting long again.
The first thing is, I saw the guy who can make the decals for us today. He was going to stop back by where I work in a couple days to take an order and measurements and all that. I'm not sure what he is going to charge me yet. Either way it will not be much I'm sure. He made some decals for another guy at work a couple months ago and wouldn't take any money for it. Tha guy just gave him a case of beer and he was cool with that.:D Since this will be more than just a couple decals I feel like I should pay him something but I will let you all know when I talk to him again.
My question is: What all decals do you guy swant? I was thinking some small maybe inch or inch and a half tall by 7 or 8 inch long decals for the quarter windows or whatever. I will probably want red but if anyone wants another color let me know and I'll see what I can do. Then the windshield decal I'm thinking should be 5 or 6 inches tall. 6 would bring it down to where the rear view mirror mount ends. opinions? what about a vinyl band behind the actual logo? I am leaning away from that but again am interested in your opinions. Same thing about the colors. I will also get a few other stickers that I need for that liscense plate frame, and some other small ones so let me know if there is anything else you want. The logo I was going to use by the way is the one Cody made for the website.
Let me know what you all want and I should be able to have them by the next meet for sure.

what is phase 7? celica club? i missed something in my absence :)

first, to nccelica, phase 7 is a celica club us GA people have started up. check it out at http://phaseseven.tripod.com
next, i'm cool with a winshield decal, 6 or so inches sounds about right. if you could, i'd really like to have like "phase" in blue and "seven" in white, or the other way around, or either all white or all blue if he couldnt do that. i'd be willing to pay whatever he wants also. and if he can do it, i think it will be better to have "phase seven" instead of
"phase
seven"
like it is on the web page, that probably would look to stretched out if it was on a winsheld banner. also, if he needs to know, it was in planet kosmos font if he has to use that to type it up or anything. and instead of a vinyl band, i think i just might get a tint strip cuz i've heard those things block out a good bit of your visibility. thanks a bunch for getting all this done for us by the way. see ya...

I agree with the "Phase Seven" instead of "Phase
Seven"
That would look extremely stretched out across the winsheld. I had VOLVO across my old car and that looked funny. It is a good idea not to do the vinyl strip because I hear of alot of people getting pulled over for that. I'm not to picky on the colors. if we go with a color that everyone is going to use then thats. If everyone goes with a different color I'm thinking red or silver. By the way my grill came in yesturday I am going to put it on tonight. and I found out that my one job owes me a lot of money so I am going to by that panasonic head unit I think it is the df701 or something like that its cool it has the 3D display and I am going to order my hood scoop after christmas unless someone buys if for me doutful.

I like the idea of the small red one on the quarter windows.
I ordered my rims yesterday from tirerack.com. 17x8 o.z. superleggeras. 16.4 lbs a rim.

Oh, nevermind. I forgot how the logo was on the website. I was talking about the one that you sent me which is "Phase Seven". I agree it would not look good at all stacked. I'll ask him about making it blue and white. I am going to go with red decals for now. If it looks funny I can always change it I guess. So red is cool with you Barry, and Mark? If you want silver let me know mark.
I also thought I would tell you all that I am working on a carbon fiber shift knob. I made one out of alluminum on the lathe at work and am making the mold off of that. I hope to have at least one of those done in the next week or two(I'm just working on it during my spare time at work). My next project is probably going to be a CF hoodscoop. Mark if you are not in a hurry to get that scoop you may want to wait and see how mine turns out. It should be better quality, and once the mold is made it will be an easy part to duplicate. I should be able to make them out of scrap material at our composite shop which doesn't cost anything, so it should be a lot cheaper than the others that I've seen. Making the mold is going to be a pain though so you may have to be patient with me.

Just looked at those wheels on Tirerack.com. They are going to look nice Barry. You may have to add another Bling to your name on here.:) I haven't forgotten about making you a tag frame either. I have to wait until we get some more material, but that should be fairly soon. I'm getting small decals for that too.
So how does the grill look Mark? Is it the 2002 one or another one? You probably told me, but I can't remember.

sounds like you got some cool stuff in the works duncan...if you end up making a cool small shift knob that would look good on a short shifter let me know. also, if he can't do blue and white just one of those colors would work. just let me know what you find out. thanks...

If everyone gets red thats kewl, if we pick out diff. colors I'd like silver, so whichever way works best.
Those wheels are damn tight :P
Cheaper and better made carbon fibre stuff sounds dang good, heh.

Red is cool with me. I think I am going to try to throw a little red in my car. I have a small TRD sticker on my back window in red and it looks good. I haven't had a chance to but that grill on yet last night I looked at it and it should take maybe 5 mins' to put on but I am lazy right now. I think I will wait on that scoop and see how yours turns out I am all for trying to save money and after seeing that plate frame that you did and your keyring I imagine the scoope will look great. Oh yeah the grill is from the 2002 I think I waisted my money because I am seriously considering the Kaminari front and sides. but I am not sure if I want rims or the kit first. Duncan thanks for all the work you have been putting into this.

I'm pissed off right now! I just lost to an integra on my way home from work. It looked mildly like rice so I thought I would be able to take him. It was debadged and had painted white hubcaps, but he had something under the hood for sure. He only beat me by about half a car length, but that is enough to warant an exhaust now, and maybe an intake after my birthday in a few weeks. Oh well......anyway.....
The shift knob project is going slowly for now. I'm hoping to at least have the mold done by the end of next week. Cody, it is fairly small, and should look good on the short shifter. It is a little smaller actually than the stock one. I'll take a picture of the pre-mold stage and email it to you. As for the scoop Mark, it will not be before christmas. I am going to try to bring home enough tooling block to sand into the shape of the scoop during my vacation during christmas and hopefuly by the end of January I will have a finnished scoop done. after that it will be a couple hours work to make each one I would think. No problem by the way for the work. I just hope all the stuff turns out good. I am learning alot from the experience as well. I would get rims first, but the kit would look sweet too. Its a tough one.

Is there anyway for me to get Silver??? cause my car is black and my Fill-in's are Silver so i think it would be cool for everything to match.

I was thinking I may get a few sets in silver, several in red, and a few how cody wants his. That way when new people want some we will already have them, and if I don't like the red on mine I can just change it to silver. Anything else anyone wants?
I didn't realize until I just looked at the calendar that the next meet was the day after my birthday. I don't think it will be a problem though. Maybe I'll get some stuff for my car.:D
btw: I pulled the butterfly yesterday(got bored). It was easier than I expected. I like the way it sounds too.

the first sat. of jan. is probably cool with me for the next meet, i should be able to make it. the only thing that might get in the way is like duncan, my sisters birthday is the day before too, but i dont think we'll have anything going on that day. that sux about the integra loss too, but oh well, can't win them all...on the good side of things i murdered a probe that tried to take me last night, it was kinda funny. didn't even hit lift in first cuz i didnt think he was racing, but then saw him get close to me and look over with some wierd look, so i floored it, hit lift in 2nd and he was gone. and one other good thing, with my recent fascination with autocrossing, i went out and ordered me a kbc galaxy helmet for an x-mas present yesterday so that should be cool. also, duncan, do you have any idea of how long the stickers will take? i'm not in a big hurry or anything but was just curious. thanks...

I'm thinking of getting the rims first too. Sinice if I spend my money on the kit and then realize that I need new tires instead of being able to buy rims and everything I will be stuck with a set of tires that would be a waste of money! Duncan I like the Idea of getting several of the decals. Any idea yet on how much they will be.
Question for everyone I just found out that at my one job I am owed 600 dollars. this is what I am planning on doing with it
Panasonic CE701XXX (I think) Head unit, sound activated neon's in the foot well's, GTS pedals, MMR gauges (if enough money) Any Comments, also I think I will be getting some more money for christmas from my family.

That sounds funny about the probe. There is one up here that a guy I din't like from highschool drives. It is far beyond rice! I am looking forward to running into him:D . That integra only beat me by a half a car length. I'd like to have a rematch:mad: I haven't talked to the guy about the decals again yet. He said he would be back this week. It sounded like he could have them to me this week also, but I'm not sure. He was in a hurry when I asked him before. I thought it would be better if I told him to do it when its convenient for him. Maybe he wouldn't charge as much. I don't think it will take him long at all though. Do you want it before the next meet? I think I'm going to go with a tint strip under the decal like you were saying Cody.
What kind of rims are you thinking about Mark? I'm not big on all the stereo and lighting stuff, but that sounds cool. The pedals will look nice. I was looking at some that Sparco makes that look nice too. They are similar but it didn't have the footrest part.

Hey guys
all your plans sound great. can't wait to see the decals... i hope i can get silver :)
as for spending 600 dollars on interior axcessories... Thats not what i would spend the 600 on. i would
1. Hood scoop (175 painted)
2. exhaust (470 trd)
I'm not sure what you alreaddy have but thats what i would do with the cash. i'm the kind of guy that would strip all his sound stuff out to save weight LOL
well can't wait to get to meet you all at are next gathering. still can't believe i missed the last. All thoughs hooters girls would of been all over me cause i'm the youngest :D
well take it easy
John
oh and good kill on the probe.

I am thinking that the GTS replacement pedals will be the best becasue they are actual pedals and on not the ones that go over the existing also they do come with the footrest. I found them at WC toyota for 98 dollars which is a great deal. As for the rims I am looking at the OZ F1 rims 17x7 I think they will look cool they are a black color and have yellow writing on them I found them on tirerack.com for like 175 a piece which seems to be a a decent deal. I think I am going to wait until spring for the rims I am not to sure that I want to be driving around in the winter time on Low profile tires. if it gets icy (not likely) I'd rather ride on what I have now. Plus it gives me more time to save for them.
J5 check my sig it will show you what I already have on my car, TRD exhaust and such, The hood scoop is a great Idea I am getting a carbon fiber one. Duncan is working on one and I will probably go with his design when complete. I am big on the whole sound thing and I need the new H/U I am still factory and have terrible engine noise from it. I am thinking about ditching the gauges right now and getting TRD springs. check out these pics of my car they aren't up to date but you can see some of what I have

I see what you saying about the pedals Mark. That does sound like a good price. I don't think I've seen a silver Celi with black wheels yet. The yellow should look cool with your graphics. I was looking at springs too. Originally I was thinking TRD but I'm thinking about the Eibach sportline springs now. I'm just wondering if the 2 inch drop will cause me to drag too much. You have to get a camber kit for them also.
2kgtx
12-10-2001, 11:49 AM
I've always liked eibach but with out cars I am trying to stay TRD and like you said you have to get a camber kit. I really don't want to worry about all that. What are some prices y'all have seen to get the springs installed?
skatamatic
12-10-2001, 12:56 PM
mark-i got my springs installed for $160 by a friend that runs a shop down near me, i'm sure he could probably do about the same deal for you. also, about photoshop 6.0, i haven't used it much, but have used some other adobe programs and know a little, and might could help if you have any specific questions. i wanna get photoshop 6.0 but need to find a way other than spending a few hundred dollars for it. i start at the art institute in jan. and we'll be using it there, so i should definately know a lot more about it soon.
duncan-if you ever plan on getting a kit, i wouldn't go with sportlines but if you're not gonna get one, they'd probably be the way to go. i scrape a decent bit with my trd's and any more in the front would be too much. however, i would like the back to be a little lower, but i can live with how it is. the other good thing is the price of the trd's, only $175 or so (from wc toyota). i think most other springs usually run around $250 to $300, sometimes even more. oh, and one other thing, if it wouldn't be too much trouble i was thinking it would be cool to get a real small phase seven sticker to go across the face shield of my helmet, blue would probably show up alright (on a non-tinted one). if it's too much trouble, thats cool, but if not i just thought it might be something neat to have. thanks...

One place up here told me about $150 to install the springs. I wouldn't be suprised if it ended up being more though. Yeah, I would be a little concerned that a 2 inch drop would be too much.
Cody, I'm sure he would do a decal for your face sheild also. I was actually thinking about that too.
