toyota Matrix !!!

I was surfing a websight that was showing new cars that are going to come out in the future. I thought that the matrix looked like a car worth owning..... but I decided it would be a little underpowered. I was expecting the 140HP engine in it. But they are going to put in the GTS engine in it!!! YEP 180HP & to top it off it is comming with the 6 speed tranny along with 4WD!!!! Now this is going to be one hot little car at 2750LBS!!! I cant wait. Wonder how it is going to handle next to the big brother GTS? It will be interesting to see! Just wish I had some money to pick up a GTS but college is restricting some of my cash flow right now:(

I am sorry to burst your bubble but the Matrix will not pair the GTS engine with 4WD. 4WD will only be offered with the 140 hp engine. I have seen performance specs for the Matrix and it will be a LOT slower than the celica.

SIGH ...... OK u got it right except the VVTL-I (gt-s) version will not be AWD. Only the VVT-I is gonna have that "option". Pick up the new Sport Compact Car magazine in your nearest store and they tell you all. Its slower than the GT-S but not much ... they said it was like 16. somethin in 1/4 mile ... but i bet u can get it down in the 15. 's with some of our drivers here stock.
It is a sharp car and im tryin to convince my GF into gettin one ... but thats wishfull thinkin. Oh well at least i got her into the import scene. The matrix is gonna have more of a horizion for the future mods for our type of engine.... even the vibe is gonna have them ... and the new corrola. Shoot the lexus have our technology also. The reason that the Matrix will be slower is that it's gearing will be different from the Celica's and of course the added weight

With the turbo kits comming out mostly for the GT celica, this would be a good pair with the lower model w/ 4wd. maybe this will be Toyota's next rally car.

if u look on the toyota site for young people..... www.isthistoyota.com , there are some pics of a rally matrix... looks like any other rally..... the webbing, weird stuff on the dash, and tons and tons of stickers that would make a ricer salivate.... but how is a matrix gonna keep up with wrx sti rally?

the gearing is the exact same as the 6-speed. it's just that the tires are bigger. BTW, i have a matrix site at www.matrixvibe.net it's still under heavy construction as of yet, but i'm open to any suggestions ;)

Does anyone know if the four wheel drive system would fit a celica. If the cars share a common floor pan then it should. Just a thought.

The rally Corolla has no problem whooping up on the all the rally competitors, including the WRX, once in a while. None of them win every race.
