aight guys...serious official meet thread is this one for MA etc.

ok guys....we have waaay too many threads about meets..so this will be the official one...so heres the deal.

alot of people want to get one together, and alot of people are goin back to school..so time to stop playing and talking about a meet and actually get one together, and i will do my best to help plan it....so im gonna start off with a few suggestions, and lemme know what ya think.

Sun august 25th, my best friend is organizing a meet for the maxima.org crew, and there are already 16 and 3 maybes plannin on goin(maximas that is, nice ones too!!) this meet is at cochicuate state park in Natick, MA (right off the mass pike) there will be a BBQ, etc. so im thinkin we can co-join the meets

sat augus 25th do a pike run in CT. we'd meet sometime in the afternoon as usual, head to CT, maybe mini-golf or somethin, eat suppah at HOOTERS ;), the head to the pike and cruise/chill at DD's and do the usual pike thing

so im open to suggestions and lemme know what ya think, so LETS GET THIS GOIN SOON!!!

I'm down for both. Hooters is always a good time also, was going to go last night, but showed up about 10:15 & there was a 35-40min wait...decided on friendlys instead. BTW Guys: Got the celica back today! $3645 in damadge all under warranty. Gotta love it.

update..
the meeting time for this meet begins at 10:30, i will be there with clark(organizing the maxima people) for the opening of the park to "claim" our parking lot....entrance to the park is $5, which is not bad guys, and the praking lot we are claiming is right next to a nice field, so bring your frisbees, hackey sacks, or whatever, and we'll have a good time....if possible, try to bring some goodies like sodas, or food. i am supplying a grill from my workplace to accaomodate the 30+ people we already have committed to attending, and i may also brong a volleyball net from work. cochicuate state park is right on the water and there is a beach if anyone is interested in swimming(but noone ever is really) and as common sense says...there will be no speeding or burnouts in the park( i know you all know better anyway) so im lookin forward to this guys..see ya in 2 weeks!!

Silver, looks like Randy took care of my job for me. Do all the maxima guys know we're coming?, hope they dont get po'd...their boards might not be as friendly as nc.org...and it looks like we will be largely outnumbered. I would probably be down for a pike run, if there was a decent turnout.

ok guys, yet again more info on this meet.

as of right now the maximas got 36 definates and 7 maybes, so mind you to say this is gonna be one helluva meet.

our parking lot is the "back" parking lot(ill explain this later), and it is right next to the mass pike, meaning that all the cars that are driving the pike will notice all of us in the lot,lol.


as i stated, the meet starts at 10:30, but be aware that cochicuate state park closes the entrance gates to the park at 1:00 because ot gets too full after that. so be there on time, and i wil save us a spot so we can have ur cars together, not jumbled in all the maxes

alot of the maxima guys are bringing, food/sodas/chips/etc., but as i said before, we shoudl also supply some goodies. i myself am supplying the grill and propane from my work (rental shop) trash barrels, tables, and maybe a few coolers, and of coure my time on the grill doin some cookin :)

meet starts at 10:30 a.m. and ends whenever as usual.
be there on time as the park fills up fast and they tend to close the gates by 1:00 cause it gets so full. BBQ will last for about 1.5-2 hours MAX and most likely start cooking around 11:30 or so.

NO SPEEDING IN THE PARK!!! they tend to have undercover officers in the boat ramp area(which we drive through) to get to ouyr parking lot.

Direstions. OFF the mass pike take the rt.30 exit towards natick(i believe its a left at the fork after the tolls) and i believe that is rt. 30 east. youll hit a set of lights that you go straight through with a exxon station on your left and the naked fish resaraunt on your right, bout 1/4 mile up the road youll see a black fence and the entrance is just a little furthur down after the fence begins.
once you get in the park, we will have signs pointing to our lot.

HELLO MY NAME IS tags will be provided since there are soo many people, and also car specifications sheets will be given out to put on your windshield to let people know what youve done to your car.

any other question just post and ill do the best i can to answer them...as far as caravanning down.thats up to you guys who comes down with who..but i will be at the park for opening to "claim" our lot with clark.

Sounds like you guys had a good time. Sorry I couldn't make it up for the meet, I already had plans for the weekend. Anyways, the CT meet I will definately be in for. Pike is still hopping, especially Saturday nights, although they're doing some road construction in parts. My wife wants to come and see what the meets are all about too, so she'll probably be in too. Just let me know when.

pike is usualy not that much fun. i mean it's nice to see all these cars goin nuts on the road, but constant hassle from the cops and everyone eyeing you like you're a member of an opposing gang.. blekh. not a friendly atmosphere.
wouldnt recommend it for long distance drivers.
