I am experiencing this very ANNOYING clicking noise when I press on my brakes. Not all the time, but it's enough to be noticable and very annoying. I notice that it only happens when the wheather is cold, doesn't click when the weather is hot outside. The day I decided to bring it into the dealer to get check, it didn't click (*It was a hot day*) !!!
Anyone else here experience this problem. The brakes work fine, no problems, but just makes a "CLICK" noise enough times that I am annoyed by it.

Hey, can when your bring yours in, can you let me know what they say and what if possibles is the problem. My brakes continue to click but I can't find time to bring it in except for that one time and it didn't click when the tech went riding with me. Made me feel stupid
<IMG SRC="http://www.newcelica.org/ubb/smilies/cwm45.gif" border=0> It's annoying and embassing, sometimes I rolling up to pick up my gf from school and as I pull over, the dam brake makes this clicking noise and not the count the various other times......
Let me know what they say or did to fix your problem. Thanks in advance!

they wa i can make my brakes "click" is when a do some braking in reverse and then brake while going foward. i think it might have to do with the pads shifting. i dono.

Yeah mine do the same thing and I brought it in to the dealer and they said everything was cool. Brought it to my best friends dad (who's a mechanic) he also said everythign was cool. I get a clunk noise but I only get it when I'm going really slow like <20 km/h and then step on the brakes.
Oh well

i kind of have aclue but real sure it maybe isnt youre brakes at all it might be youre suspension. my friend had that same prob i told him to check his suspension if it wasnt his brakes and he said that it was his suspension he never did tell me what it was but he took it to a shop and it was gone.

its not the suspension... its the brake pads and calipers if u have a gts its a louder noise because of 4 dic brakes... if its a gt u will only hear from the front.. i brought mine to the dealership because i was getting the same thing... if i backed up breaked then threw it in drive and breaked ::clunk:: when i had it at the dealer they were kinda slow so he said he was gonna show me eaxctily what it was... in our braking system.. there is a spring and when u hit the brakes that spring helps the disc brakes grab onto the rotor a bit betterso that spring when your going in reverse and brake loosens up... when you go into drive and hit the brake it tighten's up again and makes that annoying noise..its nothing and he told me not to worry about it but i agree it is friggan annoying when pulling up with your sexy celica to pick up your girlfriend..=o) so no worries guys its a normal thing..

dont worry bout it. happenes to all the celicas. hat it is, is your brakes adjusting themselves. ask a competant service person (although hard to find at toyota)and they will tell you the same thing.

Is it on ABS and non ABS systems? Mine is not doing it yet, but I didn't go for the ABS.

I had the same clunking noise at low speed braking too. Less than 25mph. I took it in and I needed a new front strut and two support peices. I have to take my car in a friday to get it fixed.

the noise that you are all hearing is normal pad shift like someone previously said.
what we normally do to help this is add an anti squeal lube to the springs that hold the pads in place. we cant eliminate it but it can be greatly reduced. toyota wont pay us warranty time to fix it but if you talk to your service advisor at the dealer and maybe buy a routine service they will most likely fix it. thats what i always do for customers because i have the same problems that they do.

yes, i have the same clunking noise, especially during the first brake usage in the morning. it's annoying but it goes away after one or two brake activations. I thought i was the only one having this problem!
