Hi!
I'm mounting these parts into my Celica TSport (all from ALPINE):

- CVA-1003R multimedia station (6.5" TFT)
- DHA-S680P 6 CD/video CD/DVD changer
- KCE-103V Black Box
- MRV-T407 power amp (400W)
- SBR-124D 12" Subwoofer

Any install tips? Advices?

Then I'll add a Playstation. I've got both PS1 and PS2, and would like to have them not fixed in the car, so I could chose which one to bring with me... Where is the best place to put it?

Thank you very much!!!

Well I'd not get the cd/dvd changer. Kinda expensive. Instead I'd use the PS2 for the dvd's and then you can get a add on cd player head unit or just a regular cd changer or even use ps2 for cd's. Just trying to save you a hella lot of dough man. As for mounting so you can get to it, put the PS2 int the trunk or even use the glove box. But you have to cut the back of it out so it will fit. Just a few options man.

PS2 will fit in the glove box if you cut out the back? I thought of that before, but after looking at the size of the PS2, i thought it wasn't possible.

I've seen ppl make a little shelf just UNDER the glove box and put the PS2 there. takes away some leg room for the passengers but I don't think they'll complain when you let them play PS2 in your car.

take apart the PS2 and custom install it! That would looks awesome. I haven't seen any cars that have that yet. Slapping it under the glove box looks ghetto. Putting it in the trunk makes it hard to access and u have to run controller cables up front.

When the price drops to $200 I plan on getting another one for my car (not gonna put my only PS2 in the car!). I'm going to install the DVD drive under my headunit in teh bottom DIN slot and probably put the controller ports in the center console box or in the ash tray. If the take the PS2 apart the boards inside are actually pretty small. The main board is probably 1/4" high and 10" long. U would probably huge it under the dash somewhere. It probably has to be close to the DVD drive or else the signal will be to weak. U can move the controller ports as far as u want tho.

Here's some pics.

Jack,

I have installed a PS1 in my Celica in the boot.I have extended the joystick leads and mounted them in the console box along with a power switch, only need to access the unit itself when you want to change disks.Heres a link to my photo album with some pics.(These are old when I first got the car, need updating).

http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/stevenomorris

The joystick leads were extended by buying some aftermarket extension leads from a local store needed two per controller. The unit is power by a small power converter 12v dc to 7.5v dc this was hard wired to the cig lighter with an illuminated switch.

I'm working on my boot install at the moment. The PS1 will sit flush in a low level false floor so only the top surface is visable this will be towards the back of the boot ,in the middle. My amps will be in the spare wheel well infront of the PS1 and will be seen through a perspex window (maybe windows) in the false floor. The sub will be sitting in an upright box behind the PS1 and infront of the back of the rear seats.I'm making the boot install from loads of MDF,loads of Glass fibre and loads of filler the garage, drive and car is covered in loads of dust from sanding down the panels and its bitter here in the uk at the moment.I'm hoping to post some pic's of the install done so far (Sub box built across rear seat and tray for ps1 and cables) in the next week or so.

I'm also building my system on Alpine gear:

IVA C800R-Multimedia Head Unit
CHA-S624-6 Disk Changer
MRV-F407-Main Amp 4x120w
MRV-T407-Sub Amp 1x400w
DDC-R17A-DDDrive 2-way components front
DDS-R17K-DDDrive 2-way coxaial rear
DDW-F30A-DDDrive sub

Good luck with the system, time to sand some more filer

Hi!!!

Just mounted it!!!
Now I have:
Alpine CVA-1003R Multimedia station (6.5" screen)
Alpine DHA-S680P 6 CD/video CD/DVD changer
Infinity Basslink XL 200W subwoofer

It sounds veeeery nice!!! Too funny watching DVDs in car!!!

Next steps are Alpine KCE-103V Blackbox and PS1, and maybe another 6 CD changer (it's very simple to connect another one with the AI-net system). And oh yeah fix things better on my trunk....

Some pics here: http://toyotateamticino.tripod.com/Jack.html

Cheers!!!

But they might complain when you get into an accident and the PS2 breaks both their legs. I'd recommend mounting it somewhere else.

There's a lot of room behind the glove compartment. It's also possible to mount it vertically in the center arm rest. You'd have to cut out quite a bit of plastic and mold it in with fiberglass. If you don't mind walking around to the back of the car, mount it in the trunk.
