I have a GT auto, its SOOOO SLOW, I ran a 17.8 I have injen short ram intake, my tires spin for a second. I only got to run once, i could probably get little better if i tired again.

I hope you didn't buy the GT auto w/ intentions of being a drag racer... You could always turbo it :)

The only reason you'd buy a GT auto is if you need a ride car, like I did. There's a good saying to live by if you want to be any type of racer. Never race your ride car, and never ride your race car. So I say take that intake off and sell it.. if you want to race buy a project/race car.

are you at elevation or something? granted, the GT Auto isn't a speed demon, but if you really tried you could take almost an entire second off that time...

Florida at elevation? He's just dealing with heat and humidity. Any other auto GT owners want to chime in here? I don't think you can take a full second off that time. An auto GTS would have a tough time taking a full second off that time.

i definitely think you could shave a full second off of that time, with the right weather and mods.

stacy menchavez got a 17.2 totally stock in nevada heat a few months back. so i bet high 16s are possible.

i'm definitely gonna run my car when it gets cooler up here. at the local races here, i run with a couple civics that have ran mid-high 16s when it was cold down here, and i'm usually right on them, with them only about 1/2 to 1 car length ahead of me.

btw: i have an auto gt with injen CAI and a trd exhaust. its slow yeah, but what do you really expect from a naturally aspirated 4 cylinder automatic with zero torque?

i dunno, i ran 16.8 in average summertime heat/humidity in NY with a fatal injen CAI bog @ 5000-6000rpm (fatal on an auto GTS cuz of the gearing) without any real effort.

zooq ran 17.3 @ severe elevation. i don't think conditions get more adverse than that usually.

and the best time for an auto GT is still 16.7. for an auto GTS i think it's 16.6.

the R/T doesn't affect your time, the 60' does.

so i guess the humidity down there really does suck, hunh? i wonder if the short ram hurted him or helped him.
