bandpasses, i don't really like them. you lose a lot of clean sound, and a lot of output. they tend to give you a very big peak at a certain frequency, so that frequency is what your subs play. kinda like, one note bass. does that make sense? if you want them to sound clean use a sealed enclosure. you'd be amazed how much better it'll sound. i had a bandpass box in my first system. i had some old ass subs that sucked, and bought some mtx to replace them (this was way back in the day when mtx was considered good ****) and you really couldn't tell the difference. i got rid of the bandpass and everything sounded great.

sony subs aren't all that good, i'd say go ahead and get some new subs. i'd recommed the jl 10w3's now too. look around you should find some good deals on them since they're going discontined for the 10w3v2's.

Don't ever get Sony car audio except for the headunits. I would go for the JL W3.

dude get image dynamic idq's. you will love them. plus there under 200 bucks....oh yeah lose the bandpass man. they are junk. especially in a hatch back. when mounting the subs in the hatch area the subs will throw off the window making them pound. just my .02
