I mis-shifted, bent my valves...my dealership replaced the valves and gave me a new head along with an update shift gate. Ever since i got my car back..about 3 weeks ago....there is a lot of ticking going on inside the head and its very damn annoying because it makes me feel like im driving some piece of sh!t. Friends of mine told me that my valves need to be adjusted..but my dealership says that that sound is normal and that they shouldn't need to do anything. I just want the ticking to go away...can someone help with what to do or what i can bring up to the dealership so they can fix the damn annoying sound?
thanx

I dont know if you're the same person who posted before with that little poll on what to do.. Heres my suggestion though.
Take it to a diff dealer... Instead of going through the whole schpeel about your engine though, tell them that you're all of a sudden hearing loud clicking noises that werent there before. You should sound alarmed and frightened (acting works believe me) .. and tell them that the first time that you heard the sounds you pulled over to the side of the road b/c they sounded so completely abnormal.
If that doesnt get them to do the adjustments nothing will.
Let us know how it goes...

The only problem with doing it that way, is that when Toyota runs the VIN number, I'm sure they'll see what's been done to the car from the other dealership and know the customer is lying.

blah. screw 'em. just tell them that u started hearing these funny noises. don't tell them that they switched it or anything. perhaps it didn't tick in the beginning, but a few days later it did. don't tell them the other place felt it was normal, either. when u leave a few parts out, it's not lying. just being forgetful to tell the entire story. :D

ya exactly... cause i doubt you'll ever be prone to have to lie there... .they'll never really ask you.. has the engine been replaced.. thats kinda retarded... so instead just dont mention it.. just tell them you've had trouble in the past with the other dealerships (dont mention names) and tell them you heard they were really good... they should take care of you after that
