I am looking to buy a new car under 20k that I can mod the hell out of and make it look nice, but mainly fast. Any suggestions on what car I should look into getting would be appreciated.

Any Honda would do...the aftermarket for them is crazy.

Oh, a new car? About the only thing you can significantly mod for a new car under 20k would be a Civic.

The focus seems to already have a variety of parts available for it....

I am thinking about going out and testing the Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec-V. From what I have seen online I like it, just don't know the aftermarket for it yet.

same aftermarket as the Celica, since it's relatively new, mostly intakes and exhausts, but turbo kits or a custom setup would be simple to accomplish.

Fife do you think this car could be made relativly fast with a turbo and a few other things on it? Or is it still going to be close to a 15 sec car?

b16 + 90 CRX Si
sr20det + 92 SE-R (or 240)
People seem to get great results from modding the VW 1.8l Turbo engines. If you go for go over show, I think you could turn a base VW with this engine into a pretty quick car. VW seems to have made huge leaps in quality since I owned my '85 Quantum!
