newbie question-removing pinstripes

Can anyone suggest a good way to get the pinstripes off my car? I am getting tired of looking at them. I have had the car 8 months(if that makes a difference). Had no choice about getting the car with the pinstripes, did not have time to order a car, had to take one off the lot and they ALL had pinstripes.

Also, what would be a good car wax to use?

If they are decals, try heating them up with a blow dryer... should make it easier to take off. Then you could use a bug & tar remover to remove any remaining adhesive.:)
