Don't ask me how but for some reason as i was driving today I felt somthing pulling my right front wheel and then a scraping noise. I pulled over at a gas station and noticed my wheel well was scraping the tire in the front. I put the wheel well piece back in place as it was a bit pulled out, just came unlocked from the front bumper. Got back on the highway and was fine and then the noise and burning smell started again and my car started pulling bad. I was just about to pull over again when all of a sudden I heard a thud and watched in my rear view mirror as my entire plastic wheel well piece went flying out the back of my car. So now I have no piece at all in the front right wheel and was wondering if that is bad that there is nothing there and how to get it replaced if needed. I'm a bit scared as I have never had anything like that happen to me before. Thanks in advance

i've heard of that happening on more than one occaison. i thought it was cuz people block the holes on the left wheel well cover for the CAI, but your right cover came off...weird.

Tell the dealer about it, they would replace it for free "maybe" it will cover it under warranty

That's definitely not a problem. I've had my left well duct taped for almost a year now and nothing wrong with my wheel well. Maybe they didn't put the screws in the bottom of the plastic and the wind was strong enough to pull the plastic pop rivets out?

So do I need to go figure out how to get another one for my well? or is there not too much exposed that could get messed or will rocks and things get flow on the car easier? I just never had anything happen like this and just would like to know. Thanks

couldn't this potentially warp the brake rotors? i mean if one side has a lot of cool air running to it and the brakes are hot wouldn't that warp that one side and not the other?

I heard that the new brakes on these Celicas don't warp. Not like on the Civic or Maxima, from what I experienced. I had mine for a year, and I autocross with it. Using the brake to stop from 60 to 0mph on many occasions. I don't see nor feel the brake warping. I autocross my maxima at least twice and it feels like the brake wobble. And my Maxima has 3k less miles than my Celica.
As for the plastic underneath, I don't have one since I installed my Cusco Lower Tie bar. It's still fine.

What's up CelicaHeart?...I had a riced-out civic before my celi and I took my wheel well plastic out b/c my tires rubbed to much, well it was the worst I could have done! It stopped the rubbing, but by taking it out this allowed a lot of water and all other road debris to enter the engine compartment. Not good...under the hood was a splattering mess!!! I would definitely try to get another wheel well plastic mold from somebody or Toyota (maybe you can do it under warranty). BTW, I got my roof spoiler!!! I hope this helps. I'm not sure if this applies to our celi's though.
Just replace the plastic. It cost me 65 bucks for the right wheel well plastic at a dealership. The exact same thing happend to me the plastice wheel well just flew off all the sudden. Tell the dealer, or replace it yourself.
