I was on my home last night on the Service Road off the Long Island Expressway.
Well I spotted this Eclipse ahead on the right line, but I also spotted a Mustang V8 on the left lane. Well I wanted to play w/ the Eclipse. As far as the Mustang goes, I was like Naa, he'll eat me alive. Well I sped up to catch up to the Eclipse. I put my car in 3rd and I blew past him. However the Eclipse didnt want nothing so i want back down to 4th. But what happens next? NOw I see 2 headlights coming fast at me which was the Mustang so I was like , "Damn, I got the wrong car mad at me." Well Screw it lets go for the best. Wasting no time as he was approaching me switching into the right lane, I went back down to 3rd gear doing about 60. The Mustang's rear end is now at my fender, Then suddenly my VVTL-i kicks in, And can I tell you that I was gaining on him and now we are doing about 120 and now the mustang was about 2 cars behind me. We pulled up at the light, he brings his window down and he's like " Yo bro, what the hell u got under the hood? so I was like "nothing, bone stock, except for Intake and pulley. so he was like " Impossible" so then he was like "Lets go again from a dead stop at the light" So we did. We both go at it burning up rubber, and by the time I shifted into second gear, his car's front end was by my quarter window, and by 3rd gear he was about car and a half, so we pulled over and he wanted to check out my car hoping to find a nitrous bottle as he was claiming I had one. But unfortunately I let him down, I did not have any power adders. So disappointed he was like " Yo man this Celica aint no joke, Good luck" So both take off again. He is behind me and then he switched lanes to pass me but he didnt have enough power to pass me. Once again losing to me. And his car had exhaust and it sounded like he had work done to it, it was camming a little.
Very rewarding night. Lesson: Do not ever think that because you got a Mustang (Supposedly known to be fast) that you can walk all over the little 4 cylinders, you'd be surprised!!!
