no, thats not a misshift.. granted you missed the gear but you wouldnt have been over 8300 in 2nd by going back to 2nd.. you would have had to run 3rd and went to 2nd by accident..

Your best bet is to have it checked out by a Toyota dealership ASAP. Don't drive it anymore than you need to till it's checked out. If you force the car past the rev limiter it's very possible you bent or broke something even if it doesn't sound like it yet. If it's bad it will show up.

Yeah, I just try to start my car again and still showing the oil and engine checking light....I will get it check in Monday, will this cover by warranty or not? should I just pretend the engine and oil light come on for no reason at the dearler? thanks.

if this is your first time (virgin hehe) you will be covered. If your oil light is on and CEL is on then you more than likely bent a valve and lost some compression = CEL, also you probably cracked your oil pump and that will cause the oil light to come on. Trust me that is what happened to me three times, same thing everytime. What I don't understand is that you redlined 2nd and then dropped it back into second. There is no way in hell that you could have gone past the rev limiter. Ask the dealer to show you on the ECU what rpm you were at when the lights came on.

You *think* you misshifted? Sounds to me like you know you did. A misshift would be any time you end up in a gear that you weren't meaning to shift into. Not only did yo uisshift, but you did damage.
If the oil light is one, pleanse, don't go out and keep starting the car to see if it is magically healed.
Of course you might ensure you get a whole new engine rather than just parts.
Oil light means no oil pressure, means hosed engine.
Sorry.

yeah I would take it to Toyota as soon as possible and listen to autxr dont start your engine...and if you can have the car toll to toyota. Also if you have any mods on it, take it off and put back the stock stuff so they don't say anything. I know some dealership charge you for taking off your aftermarket intake when they have to work on your engine. well good luck and tell us what happen.
