Hey everyone,
Here's a little project i've been working on lately. It's now up for sale. I was going to post it on Ebay, but I think it would be more appreciated here.
Take a closer look at the pictures on my website and you'll notice some work has been done on the body, and that disgusting wing is gone.

I'll also offer them in pretty much any color I can get paint in. I do have plans to add a more factory looking wing in the future, but I'm still working on that.
If you're interested in buying one, please send me an email with your offer.

Well, I sort of expected a little more response here. Is there really nobody interested in having a Hot Wheels Celica in the color of their car? Or does my work just not look as good as I thought, be honest here.
I had plans to make several more as soon as I get the cars to work with, but I'd like to know what everyone is interested in, and what you'd be willing to pay. I know something like $20 may seem like a lot for a $1 Hot Wheels car, but there's a lot of hours in the car above.
Let me know what your opinions are. I'd like to make something that you guys would be interested in buying.

Not bad. Did you spray paint it or applied the paint with a brush? I'm not going to make an offer, I'd rather you give a price.

Nice job!
What I want to know is how you handled the yellow-tinted windshield?

Just a suggestion, u might wanna paint those wheels as well. Like a smoke tint over the chrome will make them look Black pearl. That should be pretty cool for the silver Celica. I would also suggest others like gunmetal, or TE37 bronze.
Very nice job there!

Blue Bat:
The paint is airbrushed, with a lacquer based automotive paint. I think the silver one is sold, as well as an order for a white one. I've decided on a price of $20, plus shipping, for anyone who wants one. Shipping will range from about a dollar for regular mail, up to $3.50 for Priority Mail, depending on how fast you want it to get there.
Atlgator:
The windshield plastic and headlights were painted with a transparent smoke colored paint. The plastic is still yellow, but it hardly noticable.

I noticed also, you didn't paint the tailights, although I may want to do my own tailights;).

Dammit!! You stole my idea!!!
I disassambled one and painted it about a week ago. In spec blue, of course.
Doesn't look as nice as yours, though

Hmmm.... The yellow still shows a bit, I'm afraid.
Other than that, I did try to make it look like mine.
Wing removed, hood scoop, silly Toyota emblem.

Bat:
I thought about painting the tails, but I'm really not that good with a paint brush. Maybe someday with enough practice, I could do it with the airbrush. Yeah right, who am I kidding.
Scapamouche:
The reason you can still see the yellow is because you painted over it. :) I use some paint stripper on them first, but then you have to primer them too. Also, since I use an automotive paint, I have to clear coat them.

Did you paint directly over the yellow, or did you sand it down prior to painting.

Bat:
That was mentioned in my last reply. :) I actually use a paint stripper to strip it down to the bare metal. Then all the body work is done. Then it's lightly sanded, primered, painted, and finally clear coated.
The windows are tinted with a smoke colored acrylic used for model cars. I can't use automotive grade paint for that because the laquer in the paint ruins the plastic.

I did one of these a while ago. Still haven't figured out a great solution about the yellow windows.
