Saturday Night: Downton Chicago , around Michigan ave. 3 am . We're all getting out of a bar, and getting into our cars. When we see this ferrari fly by us. It was one of the old models, i looked up in the ferrari website, Im thinking its a 1980 GTB - GTS. Its the one that looks the closes to what it was yesterday.
well, the guy is going around the block , I get into my car and ride for about a block and hit a light. The ferrari stops right by me at the stop light, but we have two cars in front of us. And a bunch of cops were in front of us like 1 block further down. My friend yells out his window ' You wanna race ' , and im telling him he must be nutz, its a freaking ferrari. The guy says 'Yeah'. About this guy in the ferrari, it was obviouly not his, coz he didnt know how to drive it very well.
We go up about 3 or 4 blocks just cutting everybody off, till the point where we both hit a stop light. This is the first time we took off the line at a stop light. So im like scared as hell, so i rev my engine up till like 6,000 and lots lots of tire spin. But the ferrari did the same im guessing and spun really bad but he got like 3-4 lenghts on me. But that race didnt last very long coz 200 feet ahead of us, we got hit with another red light.
This time im thinking 'Im gonna launch this puppy right this time'
I rev up to like 4,000 rpm , hes revving his engine like crazy. So much adrenaline, i was so scared i was even shaking. So we launch, i get a jump on him coz i reacted first, go through 1st gear, thats when he starts to pull, i hear him throw it into 2nd, and he starts to gain 2-3 cars. We must ve gone up to like 70 mph. ( this is downtown, light traffic but still some cars). We hit another light, and he pulls up behind me, i see him opening his door getting out of his car, so i get out of mine. He comes out " Sh!t, i thought u wouldnt have a chance with that 6 cylynder", im just like "Its a 4 banger", then he's all surprised. then hes like "good races u kept up" and then we shook hands and went back to our cars.
Overall , this is probably one of the best races ive had so far with the celica (btw ive got a 6-speed with a cai). The adrenaline rush was so great, i mean cops were all around us and stuff. Im very glad i didnt get caught racing . So i consider my self lucky
