Camaros are whack anyway... they look similar to some object often used as marital aids. I've always been such a huge mustang fan, would have got one instead of the celi if everyone and their mom didn't have one.

I've seen lot's of Mom's driving Celica's
remember it's really a Chick car
Dropping both cars will go down as one of GM's "brightest" moments
GM's reasons
1) Sales are under 60,000 a year (combined)
2) They want to build Trucks in that plant
My opinion why sales are down
The target audience cannot afford the insurance rates on a Camaro/Firebird. The insurance industry KNOWS that both the V8 and V6 are high powered cars so the rates to young drivers go through the roof. Plus the build quality is, well crappy.
How GM could have "fixed" the problem
Do like Ford does with the Mustang, offer a "Secretary" model. That's right a low powered good looking car. Ford sells a couple hundred thousand of those a year.

The 7th gen is a "chicks car"?
consider the following:
1) It`s not the most comfortable car to sit in and drive.
2) Rearward visibility is not the best.
1) Lots of road noise.
4) Not too pratical in many situations.
This is really not the kind of car an average "chick" would go for.
Granted, some do like it but, they are a special breed and are as much influenced buy the 7th gen`s styling as much as anyone, perhaps even more so as I never met a female that didn`t think the 7th gen looks great.... even little old ladies!
It`s one of the few sports cars that appeal to both sexes.
To the guys because of its mechanical attributes and also because of its styling. Even for its fore mentioned drawbacks. On this level its a classic mans car.
To some gals, who love it styling so much they are willing to overlook its drawbacks from a gals point of view. Even "chicks" like speed.
Hey, many "chicks" love and ride Harleys... the ultimate symbol of motorized macho to many. :)

"But this car likely will go for between $40,000 and $50,000, and could pull in a hefty $100,000, depending on the devotion level of the bidders"
rediculous. Not only for paying that much for a $35k car, but for the people who don't bid at the last minute to win an Ebay auction :D
Just like the dinosaurs dying out, so too was it time for these modern dinosaurs to croak. A cheaply made, gas guzzling, ugly, ergonomically incorrect, very expensive to insure American muscle car really has no place being on the road anymore. Apparently I'm not the only one who feels that way. I say good riddence, those things are a damn eyesore.

For years I wanted a Z28. I read all of the reviews. I even test drove a few. Lots of torque and horsepower. I really liked it, until I looked at the fit & finish and the resale value. I

just going by looks, never really liked the look of the camaro... but the ws-6 with the dual nose scoop, that car just look killer. im not to concern'd that they pull'd them, but the company has to make changes some time. but im sure years from now they will most likely bring it back... who knows....
