Finally.. pics of my system.. :D
My setup:
Alpine CDA-7997 (h.u.)
Focal Polykevlar 165k2 (front seperates)
Boston Rally (rear fill)
Two Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 subs
Soundstream Rubicon 1002 (powering focals)
Soundstream Rubicon 1002 (powering subs)
Alpine AI-NET XM Tuner
Terk TRK-SR1 glass mount XM antenna (to be installed next week)

Headunit - Alpine CDA-7997:

Here's a pic of the trunk. The blue amps are the soundstreams. The IDMAX 12's are mounted in a custom fiberglass wheel well enclosure (yes, my spare tire is in my garage now). The red area around them is vinyl. The carpeted areas of the trunk are removable pressure-fitted panels for servicing, etc. The excursion and power of these subs is incredible. They are rated for 1000 watts each.. the great thing about them is they can hit with just 300 watts each. SPL/SQ woofer.. i recommend them. The only problem with them is their weight.. They weigh in at about 33lbs each.

Trunk panel removed to expose some of the wiring:

Heres a pic of one of the backseats down exposing a removable carpeted panel to get to the soundstream amps, sony amp (hidden), and xm tuner (hidden):

The panel removed.. another view of some of the wiring and the soundstream amps. You can see the Sony amp hidden underneath. The XM tuner is hidden even further under:

All in all, I'm pretty damn impressed with the quality and sound of my system.. the focal 165k2's are rich, clear, and loud as hell. :) My only complaint is the rattling and rear quarter panel flex when the subs are hitting. Its pretty funny watching the panels flex.. but it can't be good for the car. I put some dynamat extreme behind the license plate and plan on doing some more sound deadening with RAAMmat when I get the cash and the chance. I'm hesitant because I hate to add anymore weight.. as little as it may be.. but I can't think of anything else that will kill some of the rear quarter panel flex/rattling. I hope it works. Luckily I don't have much rattling from the plastics in the trunk as a result of the amount of pressure the carpeted panels are under.

Nice, clean install. I used 100 sq ft of RAAMmat and I am very satisfied with it's performance. FYI each 50 sq ft roll weights 17lbs.

thanks.. and i'll keep that in mind.. was 100 sq ft enough to do the whole car? Where'd you use it? I was just going to put it on the trunk lid, the inside of the rear quarter panels, and the doors.

100sq ft was used as follows:
2-layers inside the door skin, 3 directly behind the speakers
1-layer on the door (part closest/facing the plastics)
1-layer inside the hatch lid (there really isn't a lot of room in there)
2-layers on all sides of the trunk/wheel well
1-layer inside the rear quarter panels
1-layer under the rear seats
1-layer inside the rear seat area (parts closest/facing the plastics)
3-layers behind the rear speakers

Putting it on the doors and trunk floor really helped to reduce road/tire noise. The only part that I wish I had done was the passenger compartment floor. Maybe next summer.:) 2 and 3 layers might have been overkill in some areas and I may have been able to spread it out more to get some on the floor, but I wanted it done right so I don't have to go back in again later.

After I finished one door I played some loud music with the engine off and you could easily SEE which door had been dampened and which had not. The one w/o was puffing in and out with every bass beat and the one w/ was slightly vibrating to the touch.
