so yesterday i was at the track riding my dirtbike; well i jumped a double, came up short, cased it, went flying off my bike and dislocated and fractured my wrist. im gonna need to have some pins put into my wrist. so now i have to use my left hand to steer and shift my celica. its taking some getting used to but its not too hard. when making a turn from a stop, i have to start out in 2nd gear, cause i cant make the shift to second fast enough before the car wants to staighten out. you guys should try it, tell me if you find it difficult. just wanted to share my knew celica driving techniques. the pains kickin in now, gotta go take some more vicodin.

I do it every now and then, usually when there's a female passenger that requires the use of my right hand. ;) It's not difficult once you get used to it. Just need to get the timing right.

Hey Chris.. you're probably wondering why i didnt call you today

well yesterday at work i sprained my left ankle big time... now its in a brace and i'm in crutches... no left foot action for at least 2 weeks... so now the celica is grounded home... i cant drive it cause pressing the clutch is exactly the action that causes the most pain.. anyway thanks for offering to help... i really appreciate it.

I shift with my left hand all the time. Mostly when I'm holding my g/f's hand while we drive. I'd rather shift with my left than let go.

Blue Bomber,
I was about to say the same thing. I, too shift with my left when I have a female in the car that NEEDS the right.

I shift with my left hand just to mess around, not with a girl though. I put my g/f hand on the knob and them put my right hand on top of hers and she gets all excited:D (I hope this doesnt lead to a misshift:o )

Once I sprained my ankle and couldnt press the clutch too. So I had to borrow my moms Corolla. I guess thats what I deserve for driving a manual:rolleyes: :p

yea.. left hand shifting isnt really a big thing. I do it whenever im late to school and am trying to eat breakfast on the way.

If you have problems with the 1-2 shift during turns use your knees to steer (apply pressure so the steering wheel doesnt straighten out too fast). well.. try it with caution i gues, i dont want you to die following my advice. Hope your wrist feelz better soon, I had a fractured wrist before too. :(
