Well this turned out to be one bad day. Took my car to the dealership because the check engine light had turned on. Well, I got there and they found out that the fourth cylinder was blown, They want 1300 dollars to tear out the engine and get a Toyota rep to assess the damage, if it is covered under warranty they will pay for everything, if not we have to pay the 1300 + the damgage. They said the damage would not be covered under warranty if the car was "abused." What the hell does that mean? And what is there definition of "Abuse?" And yea, I did NOT rape my car. But My dad really believes they're going to blame me regardless. So Can anyone give me some advise on what to do, preferably getting it to be covered by warranty or some sort of advise. has anyone gone through something similar? Thanks.
Wish me Luck,
Elbert

I have not been in this situation but I have had my motor and tranny replaced....i suggest that you go to SterlingMcCall toyota service and talk to Mark Stewman ..Phone number is 713-270-3922 . tell him what is up with the car and ask him if he can help you...how many miles are on your car 40,000+? i heard about the motor giving out at 40,000+ on a different thread on the board somewhere....Tell him "Kareem" reffered you and be honest with him...he is a great service writer nad can try like hell to get you back on the road. i just got my car back from them today and it was 15-16 days for a starter but that is besides the point (Japan). I have had much bussiness with them...

dude i dont know what to tell u..its a GT-S right? like kareem said, some of the cylinder walls crack at about the 40,000 mark. umm...did u abuse the car at all...what do they mean by blown? the only diff that i see is the ones i heard of were stick, which shouldnt make a diff when it comes to cylinders. but if u really didnt run it that hard and it messed up..give em hell. if they say no tell em BS, call toyota up urself, sposedly a lot gets done that way. start a thread or search for the thread that talks about 40,000 mile probs with the cylinders..print it up..ask peeps that respond their stories and how they got it fixed under warranty....thats a lot of money...i got tricked into spending 1,200 into sumthin that i shouldnt have paid so much for so i feel that money pain. ....damn dude.......phuck this......
