People with a 2000 or 2001 celica. Do they put the 02 ECU in with the lower fuel cutoff or do they leave the original ECU in the car.
I was curious cause I heard of people who got the 02 ECU when thay got their engines replaced in their 00 & 01 celica's. Is it automatic to replace the ECU or leave the original one in that has the 8300 rpm cutoff?

they left the original in mine.. when i asked why he said its cause its got nothing to do with the ECU and of course its a lot of money to replace it (upwards of 1G) so they kept the old one. They did replace the tranny and the shifter though along with my engine... but i had a weird case in which the iol pump housing exploded and there was metal contaminating my entire engine.. along with sheared off flywheel bolts that took a trip to the tranny side and messed up some of the gears...

Thanks for the response

I'm taking my car back to the dealer cause of the engine noise. I was curious about that in case they have to replace the engine.
