How much for a new engine?

Has anyone priced the GT and GT-S engines? I might like to keep or have the option of buying another engine later in life because the styling of the car is just so nice and if I'm putting all this money into boosting the hp of my car and improving the look of it I would like to easily change the parts I already have and keep the handling ect.... of the car the same.

I assume it's about $2500 for the engine and trany. Anyone know for shure?

I assume you don't mean new, because a new one will be a lot more than $2500.

Uh....Who told me that their trany they did a swap to only ran them $500??? I see for $1,000 at least.
