I went to the grocery store today and they have a Road and Track mag that is the 03/04 preview. It mentions the upgraded interior and exterior trim updates, and also says the GTS gets an upgraded suspension package?

I'm looking at the specs of the 03 Celica, it says :

Independent MacPherson strut front suspension with stabilizer bar; double wishbone rear suspension with stabilizer bar

they have the stabilizer bars

they always had stabilizer bars... unless they're talking about the strut tower bars...

Or different spring rates, different sway bar thickness, different shock valving...

Could it possibly mean that they would "Action Package-iffy" the Sportivo Kit from TRD?

Meaning you'd have the option to add the Sportivo Kit as an "upgrade" like they did with the TRD body kit = Action package????

Just a thought.

nah.. that would be a pain in the ass... and would make the car too option heavy... dealers wouldnt know what to choose from to put on their lot and would have to special order all their vehicles, which keeps bargaining to a low since theres no urgency from the dealer to sell the car and get it off of his lot.

European mags been sayin that Celica has revised suspension settings... plus, it also will have traction control in Europe, although I dont think that one is comin to the states

Sure, why not. I've seen FWD spin the front tires on numerous occasions.

I've driven a Jetta 1.8T with traction control, it wasn't too bad actually.

Yes, I have a FWD drive car with Traction Control. That is not unheard of, and mine is a 1997 model. I can't see putting traction control on the Celica though ... it's not like your going to spin the tires with all that torque :D

sure, try hittin lift in rain and see what happens ;-)

MR is also gettin traction control in europe to help with rain and snow

traction control for FWD is usually a very good thing - it helps with torque steer

Of course you could also use common sense and not hit lift in the rain. That is just asking for trouble.

I have 18 by 8inch wheels and I still spin in the rain when I hit lift would not want to change it. It is sooo much fun. I love to get out in the rain and drift, spin etc

Word is that the shock valving has been changed for 2003. Don't know the motivation for or effect of the change, but there is no question the shocks have changed.

supposedly European models will get firmer suspension for "superior" handling... of course, nobody tested it so no1 knows what it actually means just yet
