Ya'll think they will bring them to the US. Since the Celica is out of commission then I am thinking about trading the integra in. I want something less than $28,000 and faster than the Celica but I hate the way the WRX looks and I want a new car. What do ya'll think, worth the wait?

no, i dont think they will bring them to the US. i have no reason to think they wont, i just dont think the will. if you want something faster than a celica get the 350Z coming out next year.

no no no
lancer is the ugliest SOB i've ever seen!
i can't believe they are going to put all those goodies/awd, turbos/ in that tasteless junkbox
nizzan Z is alot better
I'm not trying to be an a$$, but the RSX has a problem with interior. Maybe it's just not mine type of car ...

the evo7 will be a better performing car than the 350ZX for sure. The Z caters to a more up market sector. Nice styling and nicer interior quality. Evo is all about performance. Harsh ride, cheapy interior but fast and awesome handling. Depends what u're after. Evo price hasn't been announced but it's expected to be less than 30k.... that's w/o dealer mark ups which will probably exist for the first 6 months or so.

The RX-8 is also coming soon. That looks promissing.

get the 350Z looks sweet and if it's anything like it's predecessors you'll love it for longer. I think the EVO VII looks like crap. Plus it's supposed to have been built off the mirage platform. The RSX R might be worth the wait but i'd rather spend 4Gs more and get the Z.

ditto RX-8
awesome car and 4-door design
the only problem here - no turbo and no low-end torque.....doesn't that sound familiar???
still should be pretty fast and very handsome in and out.
I just looked at the pix of evo7.....i cannot understand what the F**K is wrong with their designers?!?!?!?!?!

You will almost definitely see the R here, but I wouldnt expect it in next years (2003) line up, maybe 2004 at best. It's too expensive for them to make them for the US right now.

I am staying with my Celica. I hope these new cars will bring some more diversity to the market.

The thing that is scary is that all of these cars are going to be 6 speeds------> BLOWN MOTOR....I'll just never try to drop it in 4th when redlining 3rd I'll just shift into 5th. lol :D

Where did you get the badge at? Did you change out the steering wheels to MR2 steering wheels to get the badge.

The new Z should hit 13s seeing that it sports 25 more hp than the 255hp 2k2 Maxima. Currently, one bonestock 6 speed Maxima has gone 14.3 and 14.4, another went 14.6, and a AUTOMATIC GLE went 14.6. The Z weighs in at 3100lbs where as the Maxima is about 3250lbs. +25hp, ~150lbs lighter, lots of torque, and RWD will easily put the Z car into the 13s just like the 300ZXTT use to run stock. I think that's quite an achievement. Unfortunately the Z won't be as fast as a modded TT anyday, but 13s is fast enough for most. With an intake, exhaust and drag radials, the Z should come close to mid 13s.

just where, out of curiousity, are you getting these numbers (specs) for the new Z? latest C&D has a driving impression, but they didn't have any numbers for it. just wanted to know if this is confirmed or not. personally, i think they're gunning for 300 hp from the VQ35. everyone was surprised by Nissan on the pricing for the SE-R. i think they're gonna surprise everyone on the 350 too. they have to, a 260 hp Mustang only costs 25K.

Well, it's speculation on my part. I'm just going by what the 2002 Maxima is running with only 255hp. The extra liter in displacement of the VQ35 seems to have made all the difference over the 3.0 VQ. Now they VQ has a even more torque that occurs not only lower in the powerband, but also carries it all the way to 5000rpms. A bonestock 6 speed put down 208fwhp and 229fwtq with only 1000 miles. Seeing that guys are running mid 14s in bonestock 2002 Maximas which weigh about 150lbs more than the Z, I can only assume that the Z with 25hp more hp, a little more torque, and the advantage of RWD will easily put this car in the 13s. I know Nissan had been shooting for 300hp in the Z, but I think they couldn't meet US emissions so they backed the number down to 280hp. How did Nissan get 25hp extra out of the Z VQ35? It appears the Z's VQ35 is running headers and has a different intake manifold that looks much more complex than the Maxima/Altima VQ35. I think that's were all the power is.

okay, here is my badge story:
one of my buddies was an engine tech at trd back in the 80's. he had this TRD old school badge that is supposed to go on the trd steering wheel. the badge is unique bcuz instead of the new TRD colors, which is red and white...my badge had red and grey..I put in on my stock celica steering wheel. all i did was i took off the stock toyota badge and put the TRD badge on instead. It was very simple bcuz the TRD badge was already sticky
