You can if you want. But I've heard of many people that say it is just as easy to do by hand and follow the recomendations.
If your looking for a cheap Orbital buffer, under $50, you are best off saving your $$ and just doing it by hand. Use that $50 to get some high quality cotton or microfiber cloths. Don't skimp on a machine.

acctually..zaino recommends a large white bath towel....i use that...and it works great... i would recommend a buffer for the z6 application....but the z1 and z2or5...use it by hand

Crown and Fieldcrest towels or other 100% Made in America towels work. I picked mine up at JC Penney on a big sale. Cut the labels off!
Sure buffing will be faster on large flat surfaces, but I'd still do part of the car with a towel since there are a few sharper edges on the Celica. Personally, I always use 2 big towels to get rid of the water after washing. Then use their applicators for "application" of waxes and towels (big or small) once again for the removal.

Hope you find something you like. If you decide to go the 100% cotton route, make sure they are made in the USA. Many cotton products made over seas are made with a lesser quality of cotton and/or aren't really 100%. Buy them where quality linens are sold, not your auto parts store. Test a corner with a match. If it smolders with black whispy smoke and melts, it's not 100% cotton. If it flakes away similar to the way a piece of paper would, it is what you are looking for. After all this, some people suggest that you cut off all trim and borders on the towel. Many times the thread that is used is not 100% cotton and can scratch. The towels will be tattered and all unraveled after a year or so of use, so you must buy new ones.

Lord Banshee,
Hang them outside to dry you nut. Wind and sunlight will dry them in a few hours.

After you take the micro fiber out of the washer give it a wringing by hand to get out that extra little bit of water, then hang them dry.
Wash them right after you finish with them, that way next week when you go to clean your car again they will be ready. They are not something that you should leave dirty and clean the night before any way.

I would suggest 3M Swirl Mark Remover, for dark cars. About $10.

It can be applied by hand or with an orbital machine and a foam pad.
